It has been raining here over the past few days. Rain in the desert is
always welcome. I don't think I will try to describe the beauty. I could never do it justice. The smell of the desert after it rains is one of my top 10 favorite smells. I wish I could bottle it up and send it to all of you. I don't know what my other 9 favorite smells are but 2 that come to mind are bread baking in the oven and campfires in the forest. Oh, and musk, I love musk - think I'll make that list today. What is your favorite smell?

I know the smell you speak of! And loved and appreciated it most when living in Denver, where it never seemed to rain - truly got the meaning of "rain on the plain" 'cause it never stopped by the city - we watched it, quite literally, blow past us. Being an eastern coast girl, and more recently, south Florida, you would think that I may be so water logged that I could no longer appreciate it. But, there is nothing like the sense of smell to call up past memories - and that smell takes me right back to Denver every time. (Big Sigh) I do miss it there. Guess at heart, I'm a desert girl of sorts too.
Ok - and for your list - the smell of a fresh little baby! Lord, that is better than cookies. Oh, and marshmallows roasting on that campfire!(and I'm guessing you like the smell of gluten-free bread baking :-o)

Yes, the desert after a rainfall! Especially in Summer when everything is dry and warm, there is something very different about the smell of warm trees and bushes after the rain. Bread baking is definitely on my list and puppy breath!
Yes yes, puppy breath of course - has been added to my list!
I like the smell of roses after a rain shower and newly mown grass.
Don't forget about orange blossoms!!!!
You know it - they are already on my list with Jasmine blossoms. Intoxicating!
The desert after rain... Puppy breath... My mother's cooking... Babies... Creosote bushes... Ireland (I know you know the smell I am talking about)... my Grampi's aftershave... Things that smell like home.
What about Ultra Downy "cashmere and silk fresh" fabric softener?
It's great for rainy days and so is a Scooby Doo umbrella. We have gotten alot of use since receiving it from Great Britain because, you can't find them in the United States-go figure. www.etsy.com/shop/RockinJ9designs
