a classic...

Now, when you sell  vintage jewelry, you go to lots of estate sales, flea markets etc.  I'm getting pretty good at being focused.  I try to just look at the jewelry and go.  I can't even type that without laughing.  I look at everything (mostly jewelry and art) BUT I usually only buy the jewelry and often, I leave with nothing.

Last Thursday, at the crack of dawn, I went to a sale.  I was #51.  That means, 50 people got to go in before me.  No big deal to me.  I figure whatever is in there when I get there, is good enough.  Some of these people are crazy, you have NO idea, and I'm just not going there.  Anyway.

All this is to explain my adorable new friend...

Yep, I scored a vintage Susan Gail bag for $7.50 in almost new condition.  I'm quite tickled.  I love the classic Audrey Hepburn look of it.  The funny thing is, the purse I carry now (and have for a few years) is about 10x bigger than this one.  I carry around a few things.  Okay, maybe more than a few, but this purse just might change me.  She's quite a seductive little number me thinks.

How long have you been carrying around your current bag?

Tomorrow we'll get back to our "Pagoda" series.  Sorry we missed last week - time to get a look inside.  Can you say Purple Kitchen????

What a deal! Great purse! I love it. I have had my current bag for approximately 1 month, it is quite a bit larger than your Susan Gail purse. I have a huge purse collection! Quite a few vintage, a couple antique and a whole mess of Glo Mesh purses and coin purses. Shoes and purses... guilty!

1. I will do my very best not to steal this bag when I come home.

2. I carry a wallet. I hate having stuff to carry.

3. It wasn't purple.... It was.... Lavender. Or periwinkle. Or another crayola color that should never be made into paint. EVER.

I was going to say the same thing as Beatnheart. It DOES look like a Kelly bag. What a great find. I'm going to have to start going to these kinds of sales. If you ever get sick of it - call me!

My current bag is a backpack/diaper bag - I have carried it now for 5 years (the same age as the eldest). The only things in it that are MINE are my wallet (vintage coach from a yard sale - $2), very thing lipstick (Burt's Bees) and my blackberry - that's it. The rest is kid cargo stuff. Looking forward to a change in the very near-potty-train-that-2yr-old future! BTW - even when I carry a purse, it is the size of your lovely or smaller. So, if she doesn't work for you, wink, wink, you have my address :-D

Absolutely love it. I've been carrying a black leather Tignanello for about 10 years - on and off. Classic never goes out of style.

Garage Sale Season starts here in about a month. Can't wait to get out there and find some treasures.

Great Score!!

For approximately 2 years. It cost me 115.00 and I had to open a Macy's account just to get the 10% off. I left it in the bag for nearly a month because I just could'nt justify spending 90.00 more than I usually fork out for a handbag. I kept looking at it trying to decide if I was going to return it. So, finally I said jump, and I did. I removed the price tag and filled it up. Yehaw, my new luxurious life of the rich and not so famous had began. I will never get rid of it in a yard sale. That's my story and I'm stickin' to it.
