palm springs cont'd...

I'm sure you want to see more of the hotel grounds.  If you missed the introduction click here and go catch up.  Okey dokey - here we go.

Pool?  But of course my dear.

Ramada by the pool where we played cards in the evenings.  It smelled of orange blossoms and the intoxication was mesmerizing.

They also have a restaurant on the property.  A fairly popular restaurant from what I could gather - we noticed the comings and goings Saturday night while we sat outside playing cards.  They had live music as well.  I think Tippi Hedren was playing.

We did go in for breakfast.  We were the only customers - it was fairly early Monday morning.  Interestingly, the ceiling was covered in ivy (not real).  The food was nice.  It must have been, I didn't even take the little jam jars.  I don't know what came over me?

Something I thought was interesting in our room and I've never come across before.  Have you ever seen this?

They also had the usual, nice, fluffly, white washcloths for regular use.  I think rather smart!  Can I do this at home when I have guests?  Would it be rude do you think?

I"ll leave you with this spectacular tree right inside the entrance wall.  It was in some of the old photographs and I found it interesting to see how it grew over the years.  Would love to see it in full bloom.  I'm not sure if you can tell, the trunk splays out and the branches all lift up to the sky.  You can click to enlarge if you are interested in trees.

I'll be back later with some of the culinary portion of our getaway.

This place is just awesome! It reminds me a little of where we stayed on our honeymoon - the Carmel Garden Court Inn - just surrounded by flowers and beauty of every sort!
My favorite is the little face relief - so whimsical and happy with the breeze :-D

I agree with Maria. I like the face relief. But I'd love to sit in one of those nooks, or by the pool and feel the sun on my face and read away the afternoon. Looks like heaven!

What a wonderful getaway! I love the smell of orange blossoms and nooks and crannies, perfect! Just wondering what kind of tree that is.

That pool area is great! It screams of old-school Palm Springs.
