vintage finds cont'd...

Picking up where we left off yesterday.  Vintage shabby chic finds my mom and I hauled up to Seattle to help my daughter decorate her first "all to herself" apartment.

There is more but that darn Andrew Henry had it all packed up before I could snap some photos.  I had not seen the apartment beforehand so I had no idea how it would all work together.  I figured we'd sort it out.

Linens...

Some pretty old German cups for holding a toothbrush, kitchen sponge or whatever...

Vintage floral prints, a standard for any shabby chic room...

some estate sale original oils (both under $10)...

this is a piece of old sheet music, just thought it was pretty so I framed it about 20 years ago...

and this, well this has a double meaning.  The daughter's grandfather "grampi" worked at a bank for most of his life and she spent many happy Saturday afternoons playing there.  It's also to remind her to save her pennies!  Just like Maria does with her boys, I'm still trying to teach the lesson of saving those coins.

We found even more cute shabby chicness on the drive up - hello fantastic thrift store we stumbled into in Provo, Utah while looking for a place to grab breakfast before driving to Boise.  We were in there for 2 hours (never did get that breakfast)!  Have also been digging and rooting our way around Seattle.  Loads of fun (except trying to find parking places in this city - really, Seattle is lovely but parking is a nightmare!).

Okay, your thrift store is definitely better than mine. But I can't complain, since I live only an hour away from the two largest antique malls in the Midwest!

Original artwork is always the better choice. I would like to suggest Porter for the name of the young woman in the oil painting because she looks alarmingly like my sister (her name is Porter). It's very strange, I did a double take.

What a pretty name, Henley! Thanks for the suggestion. I can't wait 'til the blog community gets to comment on the finished product!
