things i love thursday...

Two things on my list this week.

I've been drinking water with lemon slices and sprigs of mint lately and I must say - quite refreshing and a little spa like.  I drink it out of a tall wine glass, makes me feel a little fancy while I sit here in my ripped tshirt still smelling from my morning workout.  It's the little things in life don't you think?  Slice some lemon for your water, drink it out of a nice glass even when you are all by yourself.  Do it for you.  Use your fancy dishes for dinner tonight- even if you're still in last nights pajamas.  No, I'm not still in mine, at least not today.  I swear.  If you are some sort of psychic person and you can see me right now, please don't tell anyone.  Thank You.  Water with lemon and mint = yummy.

Next up is dinner from last night.  This is inspired by a dish we like to order when we're in Sedona eating at one of our favorite places up there.  Roasted heads of garlic, roasted tomatoes, thinly sliced toasted bread and herbed goat cheese.   Swoon.

Pull those little garlic devils out and spread them on the bread with the goat cheese, drizzle with a touch of olive oil and faint. Eat this with someone you love because you will eat an entire head of garlic by yourself - we always do.

WAIT - don't forget to enter the CSN GIVEAWAY - click here.

Do you like garlic?  Are you in your pajamas?

Ooohh Yum!
Might make that, for supper got all the ingredients, and only my son popping in and out so I can be as anti-social as garlic allows!
I drink gallons of hot water instead of tea and coffee.

LOVE garlic! Work it into most meals in some form. (love the sound of that entire meal!) Especially roasted garlic. And since I learned that heating tomatoes activates and releases even more stuff from them that is good for you - well, here is just another way to do it! As for eating garlic with someone you love - isn't that what removes the smell?
PJs? Nope - shed those for the track shorts shortly after the sun and sons arose!

I do like roasted garlic and I have had that particular dish. I also love fresh garlic, crushed and in olive oil as a dip for a bread roll. I don't treat myself to the water, lemon, mint drink but I drink plenty of water throughout the day. Good idea to be fancy once in a while, just because! :)

P.S. I am not in my PJ's. Had to make an early run to the store this morning at 6:30. I was out of my breakfast cereal, Puffed Kashi. Picked up a few other items whilst I was there. Don't know why I am always so surprised at how many people are grocery shopping at that hour!

Nope, I'm in my usual mens Russell Athletics shorts (with the stretch band you know.) And a t-shirt with holes in it. I don't know where these darned tiny holes come from around here!

mmmm Garlic!!! That looks good but I'm not a fan of goat cheese, it tastes like a billy goat smells to me. I could go in to detail but I'll spare you :)

Nope not in Pj's... sitting at work in my dress.

Yes and no.

Love the Garlic! I hope there isn't a day that I can't eat it any longer. That will be a sad day.

Yummy! That's my spa water! I drink it most every day, lemon, cucumber and try a bit of rosemary, too! XX!

I've always thought that..."lemon and water"(what we order when dining out) go together like "peas and carrots." as Forrest would say.

As a matter of fact I am in my pj's right now.

Shari - thanks for the lemon, cucumber, and/or rosemary in the water suggestion. I'll be trying those!

Love garlic. Love tomatoes. Love goat cheese. Love this dish! I love putting cucumber in my water. And my four year old almost exclusively drinks out of stemware. I do too sometimes but I really love my picardie glassware. It makes me feel like I'm in a French farmhouse.

looks delish. i planted a regular mint plant from trader joes and it is taking over my garden! had to cut it way back last night. i will have to put in my tea and water. wish i knew how to make extract. gonna make my goat cheese tart next week and looking forward to it - even if nobody else is!

wow. talk about eye candy, i'm addicted to your food posts! I like garlic, but in small doses. my 7 year old hates it when i eat it, or cook it. such an opinionated little man with a strong olafactory sense! wish i was in my pajamas. oh how i wish.

i need that recipe!! and i need to know how to do it, seeing as i am a cook in training, please and thank you! (o: getting better every time i try something new though!

and yes, i am still in my pj's... i do a lot of university stuff from home in the morning/early afternoon (advantage: cuddling with the cats at the same time) and then change when it comes to going outside, which i particularly don't want to do today because it's rainy, windy and about 50°F outside. yuck!
