The daughter picked up.........what else? A couple very old books of course.
There was an auction. Gotta love an auction - you just never know. I got outbid on several items but still managed to bring home a few treasures for my shop. Here are just a few...
This amazing bedouin necklace modelled by the daughter (whoops - already sold this one but it was such a great vintage find I still wanted to share it with you)...
Beautiful bracelets. Coral and silver (I have a matching necklace)...
Large heavy coral and turquoise cuff with fabulous carvings inside and out...
Old Mexican Silver grapeleaves with amethysts...
and this amazing piece which has a matching pendant...
Victorian hat pins that came in a lovely Nippon holder (see it in the background)
and these adorable vintage sterling silver peacock placecard holders that my daughter picked up (courtesy of her "Grami"). Haven't cleaned them yet but they are tres chic no? She got 15 of them...
It was a fun and crazy day at the auction and we came home with even more great vintage finds.
Have you ever bid on anything at an auction?

Such lovely stuff, Jeanette! That necklace is amazing (and so gorgeously modeled!).
Wow! All of those things are just BEAUTIFUL! I never see things like that when I am out and about at thrifts stores, etc. The only auctions that I regularly take part in are on E-Bay. But that is a DAILY activity for this household - gotta keep that "Mommy Store" stocked!
Congrats on the vintage scores! That necklace is beautiful too. I'm yet to make my first bid at an auction, but intend to change that soon:-). Happy Wednesday.
Fabulous loot!!
Oh wow great finds Jeanette!!! i am super jealous lol
Wow! That necklace! I can see why it sold already. Love the peacocks too. Have never bid on anything at auction but I have a friend who does regularly and goes home with amazing things.
It's no wonder the necklace has already sold, it is fabulous! I have been to an auction a few times, interesting what is on offer.
I'm having a case of shopping envy! Love the art of the steal! I tried to get a tent hanging at the Thomas A Gray auction in Winston Salem this Spring, but alas, I was out bid. I'm still having remorse, and posted it last week in my boutique party tent post.
Yep, I bought a derilict farmhouse and barn at an auction that then took ten years to do up!
Lovely finds.
That's so cool Fire Byrd! I've never bid on anything, but it's fun to watch.
great finds- Love the cuff.
I have to say I enjoy an auction. It's fun to see how much money some things go for.
I do enjoy bidding. It gets the adrenaline going!
Thanks so much for stopping by my blog via Debby. That necklace modeled by your daughter is off the hook fabulous-oh, to have a neck that looks that smooth and beautiful helps too!
