vintage finds wednesday...

I have a new little obsession.  I think it's over.  I hope it's over and I'm fairly certain Andrew Henry hopes it's over.  We don't like to accumulate things.   I'm even thinking of having another purge and going that much more minimal.  That being said, sometimes a girl can't help herself and I don't know what's come over me but I'm on a decanter kick.

I picked up these pretties at an estate sale over the summer for only a few dollars and put them in my living room.  Love the shape of them and the way they catch the light as it moves through the room...

Then, well, these were on the shelf at a thrift store.  I was defenseless against their charms and $2 price tags.  They are the perfect way to keep water on our dining room table.  We eat all our meals here and it's easier to just leave water on the table, we drink quite a bit of water here in the desert.

I thought I was done but then how could I pass these up at Goodwill on Saturday?  Seriously?

Just have to give them a good sterilize and off to the table they will go.  Somebody stop me.  I need help.

Gorgeous-gorgeous! You are a woman after my own heart. I'm on a shiny clear and mercury glass kick right now, as well. Super-duper finds!

Great idea! Such 'fancy' water containers.
I no longer 'collect' anything, I have enough. However I do know the joy of the 'find' and at those prices it makes the purging less painless. Hmm, purge... I need to do that again soon!

I recently posted about mine too.
They are irresistible aren't they?
I've decided I'm a hunter now, so mine are for sale... hint hint!!!

Haha, I love it. All good intentions for purging, but sometimes we need our soft spots :) I've been on purge mood for several years b/c of moving around, but succumb to little pretties all the time! (Can't help it!)

fabulous. even if you just use them for a while. i had a lovely tiffany crystal pitcher and thought, why keep it in the box for special occaisions? so i started making iced tea in it. ugh...do NOT put HOT liquids in a crystal pitcher. it cracked! i heard you can put a metal spoon to absorb heat. i would just avoid it all together. put in cool liquids. i enjoyed my fancy iced tea while it lasted!

I think it is important that you have come out of the closet and admitted your problem. It's the first step to recovery. ;-)

Now, about my flashlights...

I stopped at Salvation Army today and saw some cool decanters for a vintage rattan bar cart I bought. You are right, it is a sickness and I don't want the cure!!

too funny! I've got a thing for decanters too and have picked up quite a few at thrift stores and garage sales. I do love how they look on a tray, catching the light :)

They are so gorgeous!

I too love to get rid of stuff, but if you don't collect anything, there will be nothing to purge.

See? I'm great at rationalizing!
