the sand dollar giveaway...

I found this darling vintage sterling silver Sand Dollar necklace at an auction this weekend.  I love it.  I have shells in quite a few places around my home even though I live in the middle of the desert.  The best part about this necklace is I'm going to give it to one of you!

Because Andrew Henry keeps reminding me it's time for another giveaway.
Because I'm grateful.
Because it's November.
Because I got my 100th follower (thanks Koralee from Bluebird Notes).
Because  I won a wonderful book yesterday from the lovely Mariska over at I used to be Snow White but I drifted - THANK YOU!  (isn't that a clever blog name?)

Because I'm going to be walking along the beach later this month with people I love.

Just leave me a comment on this post and tell me your favorite thing to eat at Thanksgiving.

Winner will be announced on Monday.

That's gorgeous! OK, my favorite thing to eat on Thanksgiving is my mom's turkey dressing. Boring, I know, but nobody makes it like she does and it's definitely a once-a-year experience.

Oooh, I'm the first, maybe that makes me lucky! Love this! My favorite thing at Thanksgiving, well, I'm quite a big fan of turkey skin! Gross I know but I'm the one who likes to peel a piece off of the turkey and eat it, lol! XX!

I'm sure the daughter isn't eligible, but there is nothing I don't love about Thanksgiving. Whatever my Momma makes.

I'm not a big jewelry gal but anything from the sea, cast in sterling, well that's like Tiffany's in my book! It's gorgeous... I don't know how you can part with it!!!
My favorite thing to eat at Thanksgiving is the Turkey sandwich the next day. It's like putting the whole shebang (almost) between 2 slices of bread, where every bite is Thanksgiving Heaven!!
Congrats on your 100th follower!!

I am always in awe of the generosity of bloggers. We're always mailing each other gifts. It's so cool, isn't it?

Over the years I lived in San Francisco, I collected literally hundreds of sand dollars. Before I moved, I returned them all to the Pacific. But ... enter me in your contest anyway, yes?

Mashed potatoes! I could eat them all day long. Or turkey. Or pumpkin pie. One of those 3, hehe.

I agree with one of the above posters, not sure I'd be able to part with it - it's so beautiful! I love turkey roasted with lemon, rosemary and garlic - it's not very traditional, I know, but a friend and I borrowed an Italian chicken recipe one T-day and we loved it so much we've been doing it for 10 years! :) (Btw, so cool about the ballet tix and I do hope you guys make it up to Hudson Valley next fall!)

Two words. Pretzel Jello!!

AH - you make me laugh! I was just thinking - "wonder if I should try J's pretzel jello recipe this year??" No doubt would be a big hits with the Dynamic Duo (and their folks!)
I gotta go with almost everything - but especially things made with pumpkin!

I found a sand doller on the beach in San Fransisco many years ago. it's broken and discoloured now but still beautiful.
We don't have Thanksgiving over here. Our celebratory family meal is always Christmas when we have Turkey, with little sausages wrapped in bacon, stuffing, roast potatoes and vegetables, roast parsnips, chestnut puree and bread sauce with lots of gravey. And not a pumpkin in sight!Followed by Christmas pudding and brandy butter. And although the whole meal is wonderful, what makes it so is sitting round the table with my two sons and my sister and her crew, nothing beats it for making Christmas special.

By the way, best wishes to your daughter at law school. Her name isn't Kate is it?

Cornbread stuffing with herbs and lots of crunchy halfcooked celery. Sand dollars possess such organic beauty. With a silver lining would remind me of my home currency!

What a great giveaway! My favorite thing to eat at Thanksgiving dinner is the cranberry salad that my grandmother made while we were growing up. She is gone now, but my mom made it for all us us, and now my sister and I take turns making it. We might have all the other fabulous foods other times of the year; turkey, dressing, sweet potatoes, pumpkin pie, pecan pie . . . (where do I stop the list?). But the cranberry salad is reserved for Thanksgiving only.

My mother's wonderful dressing. We used to beg her to save a bowl of raw dressing (before she added the eggs). Yum! Thank you for the opportunity to win this sweet necklace! :)
