breathing in the light...

I had a weird weekend.  Most of my plans didn't really work out the way I thought (or hoped in some cases) and I was in a funk about it all until I remembered that I wished for a meandering weekend last Friday and that's exactly what I got.  Funny how that works isn't it?

Andrew Henry and I have been drinking in more of this soft light of winter.  It moves through our house so beautifully, I kept running around our house snapping photos to share with you.  Isn't it lovely?

"In the right light, at the right time, everything is extraordinary." ~Aaron Rose

Try to take a moment this week and look around at the light, enjoy these long shadows of winter while you can.  It's extraordinary.

Nice!
We have wonderful windows in our home and at this time of the year the light coming into the master bath around mid to late afternoon is my favorite.

I love it! We don't get much light up here in Seattle, but we do appreciate it when it happens!

Sooo pretty! The bed shot is my favorite. The circles of light on the floor are gorgeous too. :) I really do love winter.

Wow, these are really beautiful. It makes me realize that I need to take a moment to stop and notice the little things that make life so beautiful. I have very large windows with tons of light in my home, so I dont really get these types of shadows.

Great photos. We'll have to draw on them in Sept when we are doing everything we can to hide from that same sun.

I love the long winter light - it is so beautiful especially in the afternoon. Your shots are lovely - I especially like the bed one with the sculptural effect of the sheets.

Makes me wish for more natural light in my house. But in garden homes, windows are kind of at a premium.

love how the holes in the door cast the round circles light and then the round globe lights make the same circles but in shadow. super cool.
