things i love thursday...

I don't know why I had not seen one before.  You possibly have, but just in case, I'm going to show you what my friend Ewa made to go with a baby gift.

A diaper cake!  Downright adorable no?

The love continues because my new ottoman/bench arrived and it has added just the right punch of color into my living room.  There is kind of an antiqued brass metal on the bottom of the legs and silver on everything else in the room but I really don't care.  I like doing things like that...

I mean I wore these shoes last week and they've been out of style for years...

but I still love them so there you go.  I'm a rebel (with ridiculously white skin and big buckle witch shoes).

Little snippet of what I'm loving this week.  What about you?

Oh, that diaper cake is so cute!! Love it. I love that you wear what you love whether it's considered in style or not. The heck w/ the trends... wear what makes you feel good and that makes your style unique! xo

I have never seen a 'diaper cake', that is fantastic!
The bench is perfect for your living room!
I'm loving that we had coyotes in the driveway this morning!, haven't seen any for a while.
I love those shoes! In the 60's I had a pair almost the same in patent leather, the only difference was that the strap was not at an angle but straight across the instep.

Hey Pilgrim girl! Love the shoes, the bench and the diaper cake! Just a hint of the Southwest in that fabric, eh? Perfect! Now - fill that big ole pot and get it in there!

I'd wear those shoes anywhere, anytime too!

Oh that diaper cake is too adorable! And I love your bench and I think the aged brass would look fabulous with silver!! I actually love that combination.

I'm liking the bench as well. It looks so much better now that the legs are on it. (inside joke...)

I love mixing wood colors so why not finishes ?
If you like it that is all that matters.
I giggled when I saw your shoes... have been wearing a rather old pair of Rockports slip on with a square toe lately, how funny is that !
They are comfortable and that is all that counts for me.

cheers, parsnip

The ottoman is awesome. Love it. And I will definitely be copying the diaper cake...so cute and functional. Your shoes are timeless. They look like the Roger Vivier shoes that Catherine Deneuve wore in "Belle du Jour."

I think that diaper cake is what my daughter was trying to tell me she was making for a baby shower a few weeks ago. And I couldn't visualize it. It is pretty darned cute and clever!

My normal routine! Kids are well and back to school. This Sunday my daughter wore a tiara with her dress to church. Before we left, she looked in the mirror and said "Wow, I look pretty" home cut bangs and all.

Gorgeous ottoman! When i was pregnant with Baby Z, i was teaching then and a shower was thrown for me at the school. I actually received two diaper cakes at that shower:-). XX

I love the ottoman! Such great fabric and a lovely shape. I do like your witchy shoes, too. With my size 10-1/2 feet, however, I would trip everyone around me. :)

I think the shoes are great. (I'm a mary-jane girl myself and wear them whether they are in or out of style at the moment.)

The pot is great too! If you keep it outside try a boxwood with some ivy trailing down the sides (both easy!) If you bring it in a peace lilly is really hard to kill.

Happy weekend!
