and the three shall be one...

Today my mother and I are going to board a plane and fly across the country to visit my daughter who is interning in Washington D.C. this summer.  It is a strange thing to be a mother and I have many ( oh so many ) thoughts about it, but that is for another day.

I have never been to D.C. - sad I know but it is quite far from Arizona after all.  So we three girls will be spending this Father's Day weekend together, without our fellas, soaking in our nation's capital.  I'm thinking giving them a weekend all to themselves just might be the best present we could have given them.

This is a quote I like about parenting...

"Ask your child what he wants for dinner only if he's buying. " ~Fran Lebowitz

I hope you have a fantastic weekend!

My wish for all of you is fun, giggles, cool breezes and experiences to build memories from.

Happy day wonderful Jeanette, I'm so happy that you're back.

To A-H and the other fellas - you are lucky blokes indeed.

PS: By that I mean you are lucky to have these wonderful women in your lives - not that they are scooting away and leaving you on your lonesomes for Fathers' Day!
Just thought I'd better clarify that!

What a fun trip - I haven't been to DC since I was a teenager! And love your quote. I've been having many similar thoughts lately with all 4 home for the summer - it's an organizational challenge every day!!

Gosh what a great trip this sounds like. The fact all three of you will be together makes it even better.

I was able to visit Washington during the 4 of July one year and the humidity was awful but the trip was fabulous.
I had a private tour of the White House, really cute Secret Service
and got to see the Oval Office. I was so overwhelmed to be in the place filled with so much history.
All of Washington is like that.

So excited for your trip !

cheers, parsnip
