those days...

Sometimes things break.  Yesterday morning Andrew Henry was putting away our workout balls and he knocked over two very large floor vases and they broke, then the wind blew down our tall fan outside and it broke (also two dead car batteries this weekend) - such is life.

Sometimes I have mishaps in the kitchen.  This is a crepe cooking in my kitchen...

My first attempt was not so pretty..

I can never remember how much batter to put in the waffle maker (seriously I have a problem)...

and I have no idea what happened to this batter I left on the counter while I answered some emails but it grew while I was out of the room...

These are easy messes to clean up and forget about.  Other life messes, not so much.  I read a quote on Denalee's blog, Silver Strands, last week and I can't stop thinking about it...

"Just when the caterpiller thought the world was over,
it became a butterfly"

Yep I like that one.  I really do.

That quote makes me think of the book Hope for the Flowers. I like it quite a lot. I have the same problem with waffle batter. I either put in too much or not enough. I have NEVER had batter grow on me before! That is just crazy!

Ah, sigh. I know the feeling. Though I've never experienced a cup of erupting batter before! Quite fascinating!

That quote is going to be my mantra for the week. So uplifting in our current situation!

I have accidents like that in the kitchen too, and when something breaks others almost always follow!

At least they're all little mishaps - but funny how they all seem to happen at once. The quote is perfect :)

ever reminding us that He is just not finished with us yet - and we will not be perfect until we are with Him. The messes are what keep it all interesting - don't you think? Life - is messy. I like it that way :-) Maybe cuz my boys are messy - and I love them so, messes and all.

Oh geez, between the dust storm, and little mishaps one could go nuts, huh? I have that same crepe maker... sometimes I have better luck than other times. I hope I become a butterfly real soon then! (Love Denalee too). xo

Yeah, I have trouble with crepes too. Its so hard to get them round for me.
And I've never made waffles at home, but I can see myself doing that.

The little messes like that are what make it worth while when it finally turns out the way we want it to.

How brave you are to take photos of the mistakes! My inner censor wouldn't allow me to do that. But what fun the butterfly has playing!
