where is edward scissorhands...

when you need him?  I can't draw or cut a straight line.  I blame this on the fact I am not really left handed or right handed, which I've discussed before.  The curtains in my studio have been bothering me, getting in the way and knocking things over when I open and close them.  This probably has more to do with my messy countertops than the curtains being too long.  I don't want to take the time to get the counters in order so I got all Martha Stewart on the curtains.

I just figured I could trim them up a bit now and properly press and hem them later - all would be well.  Easy breezy.

The right side came out kind of okay...

the left side...........less okay...

it's all in the details...

I think I might need new curtains.

Oh no. I'm the same. I actually have taken things to my mom for her to cut for me. I'm a mess with scissors.

hmmm... well....maybe you can iron on some wide ribbon along the bottom with Stitch Witchery or hemming tape? That's probably what Martha would do :)

ps: you've got some hot weather still happening over there, don't you? It's still about 104C here - sounds like we've both got about the same.

Haaaaaa - this is so hilarious! To find that we all do the same crazy things! But you know, I have measured, cut carefully etc. in the past - and pop them in the window only to find that the blasted window frame is crooked - so they will NEVER look straight!
Its your office - I'd leave them - just not an issue for me! What, oh my, does that say about my standards these days??? LOL!

Too funny my friend!!
I will definitely keep an eye out for a large vintage angel for your friend!
You know how it works... you put the order out to the universe and it usually arrives in no time :)
Hope you and your Andrew Henry are well!!
Lots of Love,
Terri

Your are so funny ! can't cut but very funny !

I too use both hands but have become over the years more right handed.
My problem is left or right. My daughter told me when she was in high school put your hand up, facing out and put thumb down and you have a L for left..... duh Never to leave a good thing alone I make a fist for right.
So if you see a crazy lady looking at her hands while driving, it's me.
Funny side note, if my children say turn North, South, East or West I turn the correct way ? go figure ?

cheers, parsnip

I guess we have to look on the bright side. The curtains aren't bumping into everything on the counter any longer. :-)

Like KR said. No more scissors for you!

Oh Jeanette, you gave me a great giggle with this.
I'm of the staple and glue gun sewing clan so can totally relate to this dilemma.

Happy day Lovely!

this looks like something I would do. When the martha moods strikes sometimes you've just gotta go with it :)

:) I don't want to laugh but it made me. You'll be able to clean it up.

I was just repairing a hem on the lining of a coat (hint) and your curtain repair came to mind. I had to come back and take another look. After a giggle escaped I am still shaking my head!!

HI Jeanette! Love the "less okay". Sorry about the curtain tragedy - but yours still turned out way better than mine would have!
