purpose...
I continue to wander around the seemingly endless, and often muddled, thoughts that fill my mind. I wonder what path I should take next, what meaningful purpose is out there waiting for me to find it. Am I in sync with my destiny? I don't know. Heck, I can't even decide if I should continue to let my hair grow out, or chop it all off again. Perhaps these are mid-life questions that many women go through once their children are grown.
I have no answers yet but I'm okay with sitting with questions for a while. I feel joyful as I decide where to go next, kind of antsy, but joyful. I didn't feel joyful last week when I was getting a root canal but you know, very grateful I have good dental insurance, so that's something.
I saw that quote yesterday and paired this photo I took of some cherries in my sink to go with it. If this really is the only purpose of our lives, to be happy, I think I'm in okay shape. I think being grateful is the key.
Remember it's not having what you want, but wanting what you have.
Now, about my hair........

I love this quote, Jeanette!! xo
I'm right there with you Jeanette. I think people who are thinkers are always working through this. I was raised on that last quote. And I've recently started saying to Drew (6 yrs).
Purpose... Eep. I'm having the same struggles looking for my first real, grown up job!
Those cherries look delicious!! Nice photo. Good quote too!
I'm a great thinker and have often 'pondered' my purpose but never came up with a definitive answer.
My hair is also getting longer as I am deciding just what on earth to do with it!!!
I think we all ponder what, where, who and why... especially when we get older and slow down a bit from the rush a raising a family and can take a breath.
But hair that is a whole other universe !
cheers, parsnip
I like it. Be happy. That is what I strive for as well.
Nice shot of the cherries by the way. I didn't even recognize our sink!
I am happy- thank you for the reminder that that is all that counts
I think it possible that our purpose can change each day. And that to look for simply that days purpose - and achieve it well - affords you a moment in the future when you realize that you have arrived somewhere with out even striving for it - but by simply moving toward it....one step at a time.
I know purpose for now is to raise my boys to be all that they can be - and that looks very different on a day to day basis - so I've come to realize that even in the is task - my purpose each day truly changes :-)
Caring enough to want to have a purpose - now that truly says something about a person - I agree with Felicity - you are definitely a treasure....and I like your sassy short hair - matches your spunky personality :-D
I love this. This just hit my heart in the perfect place. Thank you for sharing.
That is such a good reminder quote for no matter what age. :)
