she read, she saw...

This is my weekly Friday feature. I send my daughter, who is finishing up her third year of law school in Seattle, WA, a photograph I took and she picks a quote to go with it.  So the image is something I photographed that touched me and the words are something she read that touched her. Hopefully, both pieces will be a bit more inspiring as a result...

"We live in a world which is full of misery and ignorance, and the plain duty of of each and all of us is to try and make the little corner he can influence somewhat less miserable and somewhat less ignorant than it was before he entered it." -Thomas Henry Huxley

Thanks to French Basketeer for reminding me to give you the photo info - took this one about 10 years ago in Krakow, Poland.

ah....well the corners in the image are as beautiful as the verse...we do have to create our own beauty in our own corners with the gifts God has given us. You mentioned your looking for direction...seems you have a lot going for you...your art work alone is stunning...and if thats your home behind it WOW! I see a creatively gifted woman.
p.s. we are looking into getting a juicer & if you tell me it makes fruit & veg equally well...well I will look into it!

What a wonderful photo and quote.
I have always wanted to go to Poland and looks up some family homes but that trip has been put on hold for awhile.
I too like when you tell us where the photo was taken.

cheers, parsnip

First, being a first-year law student, I am a bit jealous - and full of admiration - at your daughter, for being almost done.
Second, that photograph is gorgeous! As is the verse :)

As I've said many
times before, I just
love this Friday tradition
that you have created
with your daughter.
Both the photo AND
the quote are lovely
and intriguing. You
are certainly NOT a
fish trying to climb
a tree : ) I will be thinking
of that quote ~ and your
inspiring pictures ~ as
I take my photo class,
this month!
