As with just about everything, I love this because of the smell. Can you tell, smell dictates so many decisions in my life? This is about candles, they are supposed to be all about the smell right?
For a while, during her undergraduate years, my daughter worked at Anthropologie. Gasp, I know, you can't imagine the awesome family discounts we got. I miss them, oh how I miss them. I was heartbroken when she quit to work at the university. How she could find science more stimulating than Anthropologie is beyond my grasp, but she does and that's what makes her, well, her. We kind of like her the way she is so I have forgiven her (mostly, but not during the Christmas shopping season).
I do give her credit for this candle. They burned them at her Anthropologie store. She loved it, so I bought some to keep in her room here at home. She moved out years ago but I like to keep it in there for her visits home. I don't even have to light it, just open the lid and the room fills with this glorious scent. It's not sweet, I don't like a sweet smelling candle. I also hate vanilla scented things (unless it's actual vanilla, that I like - I'm weird), it's not vanilla. It's like a woodsy scent - at least in my make-believe world of moss covered wood pathways and hanging ferns, yes,
those woods smell like this. Deep and rich. Yummy.
Coming in a close second, is this little number. My mother bought this for me. Oh dear, I've just realized it is also from Anthropologie. It was on a clearance table, she was buying herself one and as is usual with my very generous mother, she picked one up for me. I'm a lucky mommy and a lucky daughter no? This one is also deep, muskyish (new word!). Kind of smells like a nice men's cologne. I keep it here at my desk. How cute is this little box it came in? Seriously. I LOVE that the container is all swirly girly and on the inside is a candle that smells rough and masculine.
Nice candles. Love 'em.
Later today, another one of my Anthro' treasures...
