she read, she saw

Going to switch up my regular Friday photo post for this fabulous new year.

I've decided to do a little pairing. My daughter, as I've mentioned before, loves words and quotes - she's been collecting them in notebooks all her life. She is going to send me one of her favorite quotes each week and I'm going to forage through the folders of photographs I've taken and see if I can find one that will perhaps enhance the words. Don't know if I will always have one to fit either visually or emotionally but I'll give it go anyway.

"The true meaning of life is to plant trees under whose shade you do not expect to sit."  –Nelson Henderson

This quote, while metaphorically has many levels and meanings, made me think quite literally of  Frederick Law Olmsted who designed Central Park (where I took the photo).  He was very concerned with how the park would grow and be used and enjoyed by future generations.

I'm not sure what to call this new weekly post.  "the pairing", "mother/daughter", "she read, she saw" etc. etc. - any ideas out there?

have a great weekend...

For our Friday photo today, I'd like you to join me on a walk we took through Central Park a few weeks ago.  The park was near our hotel so we ventured off for stroll before we boarded our ship.  It was a lovely way to start the day, I hope it inspires you to get some fresh air this weekend...

"An early-morning walk is a blessing for the whole day" - Thoreau

See you Monday.
