she read, she saw

This is my weekly Friday feature. I send my daughter, who is in interning in D.C. for the summer, a photograph I've taken and she sends me back a quote she feels goes with it. So the image is something I photographed that touched me and the words are something she read that touched her. Hopefully, both pieces will be a bit more inspiring as a result...

I took this one about 20 years ago.  That's my daughter on the left, she still has very small feet.

I hope you all have a super weekend and I'll see you on the flipside.

left unattended...

This photo is of a quail egg we found on the engine of Andrew Henry's old work truck, alone and unattended.  It was early in the season, long before hatching time.  We periodically checked it but no momma ever came back, it was a dud I suppose, but it made me sad.  An unhatched egg holds so much promise and I hated to see it wither and fade.
I've been a thinkin' about things inside me that I've ignored and left unattended.  Interests, passions and dreams that got lost in the shuffle of life.  I'm away from home right now with time to think.  My shops are closed for a few days and the housework and errands can beckon me but I'm too far away to hear them.  I'm getting ideas, lots of ideas.

I think we should try to remember these things, write them down.  Nothing is too small or too big to make the "stuff I always loved to do or want to do" list.

Is there anything you loved to do but haven't thought about in years?

have a great weekend...

Wow this week was a fast one for me.  I don't like that, I like my days to linger and waltz around me.  I think it's why I get up so crazy early every day. I want more of each day, to do more, be more but to have it feel like it's more of a meandering walk than a sprint.  Here's to a meandering weekend.
