hanging in there...

I'm just checking in to say I'm still away and don't think I'll be back until September.
I'm not really stopping by blogs either, but I am thinking of you and will be back visiting soon.
I've lost a few followers on this blog break, suppose that is to be expected.
Just wanted to say thank you to all of you who are sticking around and hope you'll still be here when I return.

I look forward to getting back in touch in a couple weeks.
It is SO blasted hot here in Phoenix - all I can think to do is post this flower photo for you and send thoughts of cool breezes and icy lemonades (and maybe some sea salt caramel gelato).

See you soon.

breathing in summer...

Blog break going along nicely.
I'm still whiling away the hours (anybody get the link to the photo here?).
Going to spend 6 of them driving to where the sand meets the shore today.
Camera battery is charged.
Magazines are packed.
Toenails are painted turquoise.
Yep, I'd say I'm ready.
See you soon...

she read, she saw

This is my weekly Friday feature. I send my daughter, who is finishing up her third year of law school in Seattle, WA, a photograph I took and she picks a quote to go with it.  So the image is something I photographed that touched me and the words are something she read that touched her. Hopefully, both pieces will be a bit more inspiring as a result.

Happy Mother's Day.

be ready for it...

We like to use the word magical.  A perfect sunset, a delicious taste or all day comfortable shoes... magic is everywhere.  I hope you feel a little magic today, or maybe even create some!

friends...

I snapped the above photo of some of our Easter flowers and paired it with this quote to say thank you to my blog friends who have emailed just to let me know they are thinking of me while I'm away.  Little things, like notes from friends, and of course a spoonful of Nutella, are the greatest joys in life.  I'm going to keep laying low for now but all is well and thank you again.

See you soon.
