amazing...

I was amazed when I took this but that was more about
being amazed I was finally in Paris I think.

I saw a commercial the other day for something or another and it asked the question "what's the most amazing thing you've ever seen?".   This conjured up all measure of images for me.  The strange thing is, I don't really know.  I asked Andrew Henry and he answered "the ruins of the Colosseum in Rome".  Yes, I also thought they were amazing, but the MOST amazing?

This made me think of the ruins in Pompeii, now those blew my mind, so perhaps they were the most amazing, but my gut was telling me I was picking them by default.

I thought of all the standard kind of answers of things I have seen and thought were amazing.
A baby being born.
Those Cirque Du Soleil people I saw in Vegas did things that amazed me.
The Acropolis in Greece.
The Grand Canyon.
My daughter riding a bike around Washington D.C. (trust me on this one, I never thought I would see that)



Then I thought of smaller things that took my breath away.
So many sunrises and sunsets.
Whales and dolphins in the ocean.
A swarm of butterflies.
Lots of stuff on youtube is amazing.
Fresh snow on the red rocks in Sedona (wait beautiful and amazing - a difference right?)

I'm stumped.  I mean THE most amazing is a challenge.  I can't decide if I'm jaded and think nothing is amazing or if I just live in a state of wonder and think everything is amazing.  The commercial also said perhaps you haven't seen the most amazing thing yet - yes maybe that's it.

I'm going to China next week, maybe I'll see the MOST amazing thing I've ever seen there.  I'll let you know.
