vintage finds wednesday...

These are my newest vintage finds but I didn't find them, they were given to me by my mother - she who taught me the thrill of the hunt, the bargain hunt that is.  I was up visiting her last weekend and spied these in her house and whadda know, they came home with me :)

First there is this very old mustard tin container.  It belonged to my great, great uncle who kept medicine in it.  I like to imagine this man I never met, sitting in his little house in Ireland in the 1940's, taking it out to comfort himself...

and how about this?!  This is an awesome old cash box from a department store in Liverpool, England where my mother grew up.  It even has the original key, so fun...

Obviously I'm keeping those finds because I'm sentimental and I like to have things in my house that mean something to me.  They have both found a home in my new studio.

I'm not keeping this next one (though I want to).  This fabulous 1980's Givenchy necklace my mom found for me is now  in my shop sorry sold already!

Are you sentimental?  Do you have things in your home that make you smile when you walk by them?
