pancake tuesday...

What does a vegetarian, gluten-free gal, eat for breakfast on Pancake Tuesday (or "Shrove Tuesday" as my English mother would say)?
Why, Buckwheat Crepes with Scrambled Eggs, Spring Onions and Cheese of course.  We like to live on the edge over here!
How about you?

My usual.....Puffed Kashi with blueberries and cranberries and soymilk. Yours looks delicious! Your English mother didn't have the pancakes for breakfast. We had them only on Shrove Tuesday and no other time of the year and they were a dinner item, squirted with lemon juice and sprinkled with sugar! They were more crepe than pancake and were the size of our large frying pan! They were such a treat! Hmm, let's see, where is my large frying pan, ha ha!

I ate breakfast about 6:30 this morning - that's just when I put the post up. I did, however, eat another crepe (with just some butter) for lunch!

Well beng 'Shrove Tue' in this house we had pancakes with lemon and sugar after 'tea' this evening. Getting ready to have the Ashes on the head tomorrow. I have reminded the far off offspring that its a fish day and we are having Salmon for dinner. btw a man of the cloth here suggested that for Lent we could maybe all have a day without technology he suggested giving up the ipod or computer for a day OUCH.!!!Chris

Hi Chris! I'm going to have to try lemon & sugar, sounds delish. Give up the computer for a day? I hope he meant just one day in all of Lent! Perhaps, I'll just try to cut back (my ipod is broken so that helps).

Breakfast?? I believe that is something that my boys eat in the morning and I partake of around noon :-D It usually involves organic peanut butter! High nutritious yes, but even better, very portable, AND the spoon stays in put!
