palm springs cont'd...

I like all sorts of architecture.  I just appreciate good design in any form.  When we bought Pagoda, I fell in love with Modern.  Can't say it ever struck me before, but when it hit, it hit hard.  That's why this was fun for me.

I think this one was Frank Sinatra's house.

Now, I'm not sure where to file this one.  Not exactly "Modern Architecture" but I swear to you this was in someone's front yard.  The best part......they are only 3 of MANY and they were big people, BIG.  We figured it might have something to do with why the house across the street was for sale.  Just sayin'........

Back later today with some cool old Hollywood Palm Springs history, sort of.

Oh J - I LOVE these! I did my exist project in Interior Design and Architecture on Frank Lloyd Wright. I had to choose a building in Atlanta and re-design it in his style (well - on paper anyway). But, my favorite of his words are the ranches. When we thought we were moving over near Tamps, I was a little excited because it was near Lakeland, FL - a place where there are TONS of his original buildings. They are on the campus of Florida Southern University and at the Frank Loyd Wright Complex - now WHY would I think there would be lots of his work there????? I don't know - something about having his own COMPLEX sort of gave me the hint. I can clearly see his influence in many of these photos - just LOVE it! And those "people" well, I guess that neighborhood has it's very own version of the Pagoda! ;-D

Once again congrats on great photos! Love the funky, 'bubbly' mailbox structure. Nice to see some old original buildings and the new ones built in the style of the original mid-century heyday.

those statues are awful! I would move too. I wonder how long ago that was Frank Sinatra's house. I like older homes but these do look neat.
