palm springs...

Did you guess?  It was a fun 4 days and I have so much to share.  Between the journey, the charming hotel, the food, the architecture, the scenery and a side trip to Joshua Tree - it's probably going to take the rest of the week to share it all with you.

Let's start with the hotel.  The Ingleside Inn was completely charming.  A surprise and a delight.  First, we'll go into the lobby to check-in.  Take a look a look around.  Many of these items were in the basement when the owner bought the place.  The original family brought most of it from Europe.  Things from old churches and homes were carefully appointed and completely enchanting.

Okay, now that we're all checked in.  Let's walk over to our room.

Look what's inside.

A gift basket filled with snacks and matchbooks with the guests named imprinted on them waiting in our room.  The drinks in the mini-bar were all complimentary - no joke.  We weren't "special" guests or anything.  Just your regular folk who booked over the internet.  That was my parent's room.  They had a villa with a private patio.  We had a room in the courtyard.  This was the view from our room.  Literally, I'm standing in our doorway taking this photo.  It was, to say the least, relaxing.

Next, we'll walk around the grounds a little bit.  You're in for even more eye candy!

Hi Henley, yes. I was told the light was very old and from a church in Italy. It was for candles I imagine and has been converted. There were two of them and I saw them in some of the old photos of the place from the 40's.
