In my quest to stop eating just corn chips and salsa (it keeps happening) for lunch, I picked up this quicky the other day. Gluten free, cheap, and quick/easy to make.
I don't buy many pre-packaged food items. Just trying to keep it as close to nature as we can around here. This was fairly close to nature - a little too close for me. I don't know WHAT I was thinking. I don't like seafood. ANY seafood - never have, never will. Water is as far as I go. Why did I think I would like something with seaweed in it? Dear goodness and all things holy did this gross me out. I didn't even swallow the first bite - cringing thinking about it even now. I wouldn't give it to Jake - and he's a dog, he'll eat other dog's crap (and has on several occasions). On to better things. Much, much better things.
I have no words for this little packet of heaven. I took these on the Palm Springs road trip and I've just realized - I didn't share them (hey they can all eat any old glutenous thing they want) and the bag was empty by the time we got home. That means I ate all of them in 4 days! This might explain why I gained a pound while we were gone. I was blaming it on the scarce amount of exercise and restaurant food. I am willing to admit it COULD have been this bag of cookies, and the See's Candies and and...........the fact I hated the healthy rice dish and devoured the cookies!
those cookies look great, now I'm hungry!
Once I open a bag or box of something sweet, I'm toast. It's gone so fast. I'm going to try these cookies. Are they less fattening because they are gluten free?
I am eating lunch at my computer, a wonderful salad! Now I am already thinking "dessert!" I enjoy lots of different fish however I'm sure I wouldn't have eaten that rice and seaweed dish, I have tasted seaweed!
I love trader joes. I love everything from there so far. I would probably even like that seaweed rice, in fact it looks good to me!
have you tried the chocolate dipped nuts? they taste just like sees. 60%cacao.YUMMY. i don't share those either. i agree with the brown rice. i like sushi but that was not something i enjoyed.
What chcolate dipped nuts? You are going to kill me, nuts and choc' are my favorite! What kind of nuts are we talking about? I like everything you suggest!
Nuts and chocolate automatically equals delicious. And what possessed you to buy that rice? It looks gross...
I don't know! I'm getting old - it's a slippery slope.
I'm with Pam - love sushi - not sure about the rice - besides - look at that sodium content - you've have felt dehydrated AND bloated for at least a day!! The chocolate - I'm ALL over that - too bad you don't drink red wine dahling!
OK, my next stop tomorrow will be Trader Joes. I need some foods I have'nt seen and you my friend keep coming up with them. So, I will try a new store and let you know what I think (when I think). toodledo.
So glad you are finding some different foods! Perhaps I'll try those flourless cookies.
Oh I love trader joes...in canada we do not have them so I hit the road and head down your way...only 30 mins to the nearest tj.
Thank you for visiting me the other day...your blog is lovely. xo
Thanks Koralee - your blog is lovely as well. Do you go to Seattle to visit TJ's? My daughter is there for law school.
This rice is great (for those who eat sea food). Check out Costco, they have a good one too, organic... and not sea connection.
