it's all in a name cont'd...

You may remember last month we had a little baby naming poll for my friend Marni.  I am happy to announce the much anticipated birth of Mr. Liam Hays Marquardt on April 6th, 2010.

Welcome to the world young man.

May you always walk with honor and know more laughter than sorrow.

Congratulations Dave, Marni and big sister Madeline!

PS - that's a yawn in the first photo - he didn't make a peep the entire time I was there, adorable baby.

Ooh, Liam - I love it! Very powerful, but lyrical name.

I like you writing "may you always walk with honor". It's something we don't see too much of anymore and it's a good word. Nice sentiment, says a bit about you as well. I will walk with honor today.

Forgot to say, what with all that honor, isn't that the name we all picked? Do we wield that much power?

Welcome Liam. Love that name. I know a man with the 'Anglicised' name for Liam, and he is indeed honorable.

Friends - I believe that Henley is right - we did all pick that name! And I believe - some of us even chose it BECAUSE if its meaning! I don't know about wielding power (other than the power of suggestion), but I feel like if honor is somehow built into the character of this little one by virtue of his name, well then, we have just helped to make this world a little better place - and for that - I am proud :-D
(now J, you have to ass a "Watch Liam Grow" segment to the blog since his our first official member/mascot from birth ;-)

ahhh, I was wondering if we would ever get to find out the chosen name. I did not vote for Liam but I did like it. Was a Hayes fan, see it at least made it to the middle. They didn't use the "e". It's an old name in my family, spelled with "e". Congratulations, and get this, from one LIAM to another!
