While I wait for autumn to arrive here in Phoenix, I'm daydreaming about my trip last month.
There was Canada where I saw an amazing tree called a Weeping Elm (which I'd never heard of). It reminded me of the Whomping Willow from Harry Potter. It was majestic from the outside...
and magical from the inside...
Canada also had one of my favorite guilty pleasures which I can usually only get in England (that's probably a good thing)...
There was Bar Harbor, Maine with it's delicious fog...
signs of fall...
and a fairly large chandelier above us as we ate blueberry pie...
There was Newport, Rhode Island. What a surprise Newport was. I seriously had no idea how beautiful, historical and full of palatial mansions it is. What a place...
they even had a pagoda on the beach!
and Andrew Henry found this sign that for some reason reminded him of me...
I just can't imagine why.
Big Happy Birthday shout out to my sweet cousin in St. Augustine and dear friend in Staffordshire! Two FABULOUS women.

Happy birthday to your friends and these are beautiful pictures! Happy Tuesday. XX
J - I LOVE these pictures!
The willow is my favorite! I have a thing about not only "weeping" trees, but the "contorted" (twisty looking ones) varieties as well - and if I can get them in combination - well, Heaven!
My very favorite tree is the contorted filbert - will have one in my yard some day!
These photos made me take deep breaths - love that! Happy Fall!
Thanks for the Bday wishes - love ya!
ps - the sign was my 2nd fave - AH has you pegged!
wow, where in Canada was that incredible weeping elm? I've seen a lot of gorgeous weeping willows but never an elm...
love the pics and now you've got me wanting blueberry pie! :)
That tree does look like the whomping willow! I've always wanted to see Maine and Rhode Island. A cruise seems like a good way to do this. And there are about a thousand places in Canada I'd love to see. Looks like you had a great time! And that sign is too funny.
Oh my goodness Jeanette it is like a fairy tale!!!!
Gorgeous pictures! Glad you had fun. Isn't Newport beautiful? Love it there. xo

Oh what beautiful photos! I love the variety, but they all make me feel cozy somehow. :) That weeping willow is gorgeous! You're also making me want to visit Maine (and find that awesome sign! :))
Tried to choose a favorite pic but couldn't!
I could live in Newport all summer!!
Fancy finding a Pagoda on your travels!
I think you should start a collection of Pagoda photos, frame them and hang them in your Pagoda.
Hmmm, the sign... good one AH!
Great photos! And HAPPY BIRTHDAY AUNTIE MARIA!
Regarding the bossy sign, we have found that over time Jeanette does have better ideas.
Last year for Christmas I got her a t-shirt that says "For the sake of time, let's just assume I'm right".
She usually is...
Ha, forgot about that tshirt. Funny and true at the same time!
Wow I wanna go to New England so bad and Canada!!!
Um.. the whomping willow is real?
My world is shifting!
