pagoda 15 cont'd...

Picking up where we left off yesterday, let's take a closer look at our remodelled kitchen.  The artwork hanging in the kitchen is kind of a jumble of things...

I had quite a bit of trouble learning how to tell time when I was little.  I saved this record album from my childhood and framed it for my kitchen.  I think the graphics are great and I like looking at it while I cook.  I still have a problem with numbers.

I try to live by the "Keep On" message and this poster is the exact same color of my pendant lights so it was a no brainer.  The other is a polaroid pull image I did in college about a million years ago...

This is the rest of the polaroid pull series...

pages from Andrew Henry's Meadow book...

a few paintings...

A drawing of me that one of my students did a long time ago.  He labelled it "Ms. Mcable" which isn't exactly my last name but you know he did kind of capture my essence don't you think...

These are from my daughter's childhood and are the most special pieces of artwork in our home.  She liked to play FBI secret agent and her self appointed pretend agent name was Violet.  She made these and had them in her "office" when she was little...

Tomorrow we'll finish it up with a closer look at a few things and a peek inside the cupboards.

I adore that you framed your daughters artwork. I'm in love with you and your visions I think. When I buy a house again, I'm flying you there so you can help me :)

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it! ALL of it!
If you are like me and spend MOST of your time in the kitchen - THAT is where these things that mean the most to you belong - right where you can see them all day long!
And you already know how "Violet's" early work resonates with me..... oh how I love the work of children.

Oh how wonderful, I love the first one and that bright green keep calm! And so much lovely personal history in the frames :)

Did someone say "creative"?! Your home 'oozes' with style and beauty!
Violet is just too precious for words. Dealing in law even back then, should have been a hint!
Yes, Mrs McCable is a very apt name!

I love both the Ms Mcable and Violet P.!!!

Violet was so determined and idealistic!

The would-be 'artist' from school was trying to be sly when you caught him drawing that picture. That makes it even funnier!

We must be kindred spirits as I have the same album from my childhood. It looks great framed!

All the artwork is not only beautiful, but truly personal, what could be better than that?!!!

I am always such a big fan of children's art work in a space. I can't wait for baby Z to make his first little drawing because i most certainly will be framing it! Love the other pieces too! XX
