vintage finds wednesday...

This is a vintage find from last year - it's been in the cupboard all summer.  I just pulled it out this weekend and I'm so excited it's finally BLANKET WEATHER here in Phoenix.  Okay, technically it's 75 outside today but the nights and mornings are chill chill chilly so out came the blankets.  This isn't a Hudson Bay point blanket but it looks and feels like one and I like the old J.C. Penney label just fine thank you.  Besides, it was less than $15 so how can you argue with that?  Thanks Mom.

Next up was a score at a flea market in Sedona last weekend.  How cute are these vintage law enforcement badges?  They had some that said "Brothel Inspector" and for some bizarre reason, I didn't get one - kicking myself now.  I put the Texas Rangers one in my shop because of the whole World Series mania but I'm deciding if I want to sell the others as is, or make a necklace with each one.  What do ya'll think?

These cut geode crystal candle holders are also from the Sedona flea market.  At first I had the ridiculous thought they weren't "vintage" so I wouldn't show them to you but duhhhhh some geodes take thousands to millions of years to form so I'm thinking the vintage label is okay.  There was a time when I wouldn't have looked twice at these but as sad as this sounds, since I saw them in Anthropologie a few years ago (see here), I like them.  Pathetic I know.  I think mine are MUCH prettier and they only cost $2 apiece.

Yep, I said $2.  I asked they guy how much and when he said "how about $2 a  piece?" I started grabbing, but so did everyone else and I could only hold 5 so that's how many I came home with.  Don't they rock?  Seriously, I couldn't resist that one.

My little policeman and I LOVE the badges - gonna go visit the shop now.......

My eldest, however, said (and I quote) "Ooooo look at those purple rock! I LOVE those!" So they get a thumbs up from the east coast. Yes - THEY ROCK!

And though I KNOW it can get down right FREEZING in the desert at night - I really think I have to go find some blankies like that!

I so have to go shop in Sedona! The things you guys come up with!

Haha! Yes, they do rock. :) How did you leave without the brothel inspector badge??? It's ok, the rest are pretty great. It cracks me up that 75 degrees is blanket weather. But it's a good thing because that blanket looks so cozy.

That warm blankie looks so cozy! (I think the label makes it even more special :)). The sheriff badges are awesome! Now you've inspired me to look for them.

And yup, those rocks rock! (I've a total weakness for rock geodes) All these do :)

You know I just bought a super nice all wool blanket at a thrift store here in town and I paid less than $5 for it. I don't know if it came from a hotel but it has "Palmer House" and a pretty logo printed on it. I love the stripes on yours and I adore my wool blanket too! I may get an opportunity to use mine this weekend, cold air coming in!!

That wool blanket weighs a ton. I love it! Let's here it for autumn. All of us Phoenicians are happy campers this time of year.

They rock! I buy nearly all my linens and such at JCPenneys. Quality is good and so is the price.

Wow, I am so loving your vintage treasures Jeanette!
You scored big time!!!!!
I've never seen those crystal votive chunks for that price! The lowest I've seen them at estate sales was $8.
You really found yourself some stellar deals.
Adore those badges and I'm eying your blanket as it's gotten really chilly in the Bay :)
Happy Hunting this weekend!!!

Love the blanket - If you ever find another one send it my way. I passed one of those up at a garage sale and have kept my eye out for another to pass my way.

I have a purple geode candle holder too - got it at a garage sale for $1.00. Great minds.......
