things i love thursday...

Look what arrived in my mailbox last night from the beautiful and talented Mariska Meijers - this book...

and these...

I was the very lucky winner of a giveaway on I used to be Snow White but I Drifted and I'm so happy I was.  Mariska was also kind enough to include a those great notecards with her artwork on the front - lucky lucky me.  Very much lovin' this today.  Thanks again Mariska!

I'm also lovin' this box of vintage chandelier pieces I picked up at an auction on Sunday.  The jewelry ideas are flooding in - aren't they all kinds of shiny pretty...

Another thing I'm lovin' is the daughter's new do.  SHE GOT HER HAIR COLORED YESTERDAY.  My blonde little girl now has chestnut hair - she's feelin' mighty sassy now.  Yesterday this hair was blonde...

Have you ever drastically changed your hair?

Judging from the cover, the book looks wonderful.
Your daughter has beautiful hair.
To answer your question, I once went to a salon (new, walking distance of my college apt) and the woman chopped off my hair. I had always had it long, and it was just past my shoulders. I was horrified, but everyone else thought it suited me.

Congrats on your win! Yes, interesting title, lovely art too!
Being a retired hairdresser I have had a 'few' drastic hair changes!!
I believe I have one at the moment, got it done about 10 days ago. :-)

I'm always changing my hair and I love your daughter's color! I wish I could go for color like that but I'm trying to stay closer to my natural color (much darker) because otherwise my roots show too quickly.

Until I was 20 I went red, blonde etc. and finally at 20 realized that I like being a brunette! LOVE your daughter's color!

I love getting packages in the mail! What a lucky lady you are!

And your daughter's hair is adorable! Whenever I need a change I just add some bangs and it's like a whole new me!

Wow!! That is a big change! What a great color! So fun. :) Yes, I have changed my hair a lot. I've had every length between bob and waist length, bangs, no bangs, layers, etc. And I have changed my color more times than I can count. I seem to have settled on a color/style which is very similar to my childhood hair and really don't want to change it at all. This is new to me. ;)

And lucky, lucky you! That book looks like a good one. You'll have to show us some of your chandelier creations!

ahhh, this brings back memories! I have been blonde my whole life, but at 21 dyed it red, then cut it off and dyed it dark dark brown, then red again and went back and forth until I was 26 and it has stayed blonde ever since. But it was fun. I always took the attitude that it is JUST hair and will grow back or you can dye it back! and never before did anyone realise I had green eyes until my hair was red. They still don't. Only when my hair is dark. I applaud your daughter. That free spirit and reasonableness daring thinking will take her far and serve her well. :) Tell her I said so. From a real blonde to red- to brunette- to auburn - to strawberry - to black - and back again. :)
