this delicious light...

After the chaos of looking at my messy house yesterday, I thought we'd focus on finding some inner peace.

I love the long shadows of winter.  The light right now is gorgeous.  I get a little choked up when I go outside.  I know that sounds crazy but it's fabulous and taking note of it brings me some serenity during the chaos of everything else going on.  I snapped a couple shots for you...

That photo on the left is the flowering bouganvilla on my wall, it's beautiful but now that I'm looking at how close it is to our Christmas lights I'm wondering...........could that be a fire hazard???

This is our front porch at 10:00 a.m., doesn't it make you want to sit there and just breathe?  It's a soft almost glowing light - we get a lot of harsh light here in the desert so this is a nice break for us...

or here in my bedroom - makes me want to curl up with a good book...

this is what is happening around 4:00 p.m. every afternoon.  I did nothing to this photo, that's just the blinding sunlight streaming in each afternoon, it's the view from here at my desk - delicious..

Speaking of light.  Here is a rather poor quality photo I took of the crazy moon Monday night.  I didn't use a flash so I have no explanation for that weird light that looks like it's going from the moon, to me and then off into space.  Must have been me moving or something

The winter light,  take a moment and soak it in.

What lovely light...and amazing weather. We're going through a series of rain storms (I think it was on CNN)...and its gray and wet here. I'm a bit jealous.

I love making little mental-notes to myself too and I have to say that I would love to share a cup of coffee with you on that amazing porch! The light in each photo is so stunning! Enjoy your day, darling

There was a lunar eclipse on Mon. night, the next one is in a few hundred years! Wonder if the eclipse had something to do with your strange light.
I also love winter light and shadows!
I love 'Pagoda' in the window.
Really cold and wet here but I see some blue sky.

LOVE the winter light. Especially sunrise and sunset. Love the long angular shadows. You are right. It's our unrelenting, unyeilding, in-your-face summers that really make you appreciate these times.

How beautiful. We don't have summers like you do, so I can appreciate the different light we get year round. This sort is my favorite though.

that light does look extremely inviting... and last nights moon shot looks very cool! Isn't it weird how sometimes light like that does weird things? I have a photo from December a few years ago that looks like I have a HUGE diamond ring on my ring finger and I wasn't wearing any jewelry.

Oh I love your leather chair- it looks so inviting.
Hope all is well!

I can see why you'd get a bit choked up. It's beautiful where you are and the play of the light is amazing! Love these shots! I'm sure you must be having a fab time with your daughter being home:-). Enjoy every minute:-) XX
