"Science has explained nothing. The more we know, the more fantastic the world becomes, and the profounder the surrounding darkness." -Aldous Huxley
Side note: when my daughter sent me the quote she mentioned to me that Aldous Huxley is one her favorite writers, grandson of her favorite scientist. Gotta say, I do not have a favorite scientist. I know we're related but sometimes I do wonder how it is I raised this delightfully quirky girl that has a favorite scientist.
I don't blog on the weekends but I hope you have a good one and I'll see you on Monday

ps: I don't have a favourite scientist either!
She really is lovely and both are a perfect match. The photo is stunning. I would love to frame it!
Happy Friday:)
Ps: I really love those posts. Some of those quote stay with me for days.
Fabulous paring!
I laughed at your comment about MJM having a favorite scientist - she and BAM may be a bit alike - b/c even at 6, he has a favorite inventor and artist, DaVinci, and has specific pieces of art and inventions of his to which he is partial. I hope it points to him becoming as wonderfully quirky as M :-D
Thanks Diane I'm certain it will thrill her to no end that you think of the quotes for days. I'll send you a print if you'd like.
M - yes I think they are very much alike :)
Look forward to this Friday feature now. Such a cool idea.
Science and art -- perfect match!
Happy weekend!
xo Cathy

Look forward to seeing you on Monday - good quote and lovely picture too.
I'm so tickled when people like my choice! Thank you! Also, my favorite scientist is Thomas Henry Huxley, for the record. He was spunky.
I don't even know who that is :)
umm, first..that picture is BEAUTIFUL. I'm in love with it. second, i love how the quote fits!
hehe... I bet there are scientists out there with favorite scientists :) Have a great weekend!
One of my favorite pairings - both quote and photo are so evocative and moody! Perfect for this day!
Lets hear it for Thomas Henry Huxley, the "spunky scientist"...
Great photo and quote!
I think that today's pairing was
wonderful.
what I loved about the photo was the misty details you can just see.
Have a wonderful weekend, Tucson might get some rain Sunday yea !
cheers, parsnip
Aldous Huxley...another AH!
CAn you believe they got snow? I guess its a shock to me cause I'm sitting in a tank top :).
wow Jeanette! perfect combination. Your picture is so inspirational, so ethereal! And the quote is perfect. have a lovely weekend.
Such great commentary - I don't have a favorite scientist either, but I wish I was the kind of delightfully quirky person who did! You must have one terrific daughter!
Have a great weekend!
love the quote, love the picture. so gorgeous
very cool ship photo. and i don't have a favorite scientist either. did enjoy doing some book reports on them as a child.
i do enjoy science shows - love 'mystery diagnosis' it always intrigues me!
stamps look fun. if i can put my name in the hat for one, we do stamping here for cards. 4 year olds enjoy things like that.
You two are quite a team! And I don't have a favorite scientist either - but I'm glad that someone does!
I love this idea you have! My oldest daughter (36) is much like me. The other one (32) is like her father. I guess they just turn out like they turn out!

oh i love this - what a perfect quote to the image!!
A favorite scientist huh? You've got a smarty on your hands!
LOVE that your daughter has a favorite scientist! Abby has a favorite author (Arnold Lobel) and a favorite "cooker lady" (Sophie Dahl). I wonder if she'll have a favorite scientist too someday. ;) Anyway, what a gorgeous photo, Jeanette. And great quote as well. You've been posting quotes that really speak to me lately. The two that have been running through my head daily since reading them here are the one about a fish can't drown in water and the one about how you spend your days is how you spend your life. I love today's quote even more knowing that Huxley's grandfather was a scientist! Too funny!
I love the mysterious feel behind the photo and the quote your daughter chose.
Wishing you the loveliest of weekends! xoxo
Lovely quote. So true! Have a beautiful week ahead, Kellie xx
what a lovely activity to do with your daughter.
Perfect!! I just love that photo!
