while i was sleeping...

While I spent 6 days sick in bed last week, Andrew Henry kept himself busy.  To be fair, he is usually busy.
The transformation of the room we were using as gym into my new office/studio begins (the cork wall is original to the house, just wanted to leave it for some reason and now I'm glad I did)...

Before...

making way...

Several trips to the return section at IKEA for bargains and this is where we are so far.  Not done but well underway...

I'm on the lookout for a kind of big clunky vintage industrial piece for the center of the room (for a screamin' deal of course).  This could take me years but I'm okay with that.  I don't mind waiting for the right piece.

I should mention, I have done absolutely none of this work so far.  It's all Andrew Henry.  He's not going to be bringing home candy and flowers for Valentine's day because he's not that guy and I'm not that girl.

He is the guy who will go to Ikea on his lunch hour every day to get me cabinets.  He'll come home from long days at work and hammer out a studio for me with a smile on his face because it's going to make me happy and that's way better than candy and flowers in my book.

We love you Andrew Henry and your thoughtful ways.
The new studio/office is looking great and I can just imagine it completed with the perfect 'industrial' piece in the centre.

Hoping that you're feeling a LOT better Jeanette,

Felicity x

I'm not that girl either, and TM is not that guy either - we are WAY more like you guys :-D LOVE how this room is going.
I'm thinking something from a really old architecture or design office for the middle of that space. Maybe an big old flat file or something - just throwing out brain-stormy things.

AH - The world needs more boys to grow into men like you. Keep up the good work.

You are one lucky girl to have such a handy guy. It's looking fabulous so far - can't wait for the continuation!! In my corporate days, I had one whole wall that was cork - it was a godsend especially for someone like me who needs to see it all!!

Andrew Henry is the best, even if he didn't have all of those DIY skills!!!
The room is looking great so far!
I'm with you on the candy and flowers but some gals like them and that's good too!
I am happy with a card!
Glad you are doing better.

Studio is looking wonderful. So glad you left the cork wall, that will be perfect for your jewelry.

I too am looking for a vintage industrial piece for my studio. I want one of the old gray metal desks with a light box.
Still looking.... le sigh

Glad your getting better !
