vintage finds wednesday...

I was so excited AT the auction this weekend I forgot to take photos OF the auction this weekend.  Let me show you a few things I picked up while I was there to make up for it.  These are all things for my new shop (hope to open up by next month)...

Pretty Hobnail glassware (just saw some in Country Living magazine yesterday :)...

A fabulous Art Deco vanity box...

2 Whiting Davis mesh purses...

This one isn't from the auction but I wanted to share anyway.  My mother gave me her 1936 Royal Deluxe typewriter last weekend (I've always loved it)...

Of course I also picked up 2 jewelry boxes full of treasures but I don't want to send you into a spiraling vintage vortex of some sort.

Found any little treasures lately?

I've been craving a vintage typewriter and almost bought one at the antique fair last month. LOVE the hobnail stuff.

Lovely finds. Love the glass! I always like to have glass bottles near my windows in the kitchen - love the way the light plays off them. The typewriter is beautiful - will you use it? Your mom has so many treasures tucked away. What a generous lady she is!

I cannot WAIT to see this new shop!
So exciting!

That typewriter is really cool. A little oil, a new ribbon and it will be good as new!

No vintage finds for me. I'm usually just along for the ride. :-)

If you want ANY kind of treasure, my mom and Grami can find it for you! And at a bargain!

The Hobnail glass pieces are fabulous!!
Love the silver mesh purse. Of course the Art Deco is one of my favorite styles.
The typewriter was just sitting in its case here, now it is on display,... much better!
I'm not doing much in the "collecting treasure" department these days, more like sharing them.

Oh wow, I adore your mothers old typewriter!! I wonder if you could incorporate it into your shop photography?... That would be swell, lol.

Hope you're having a great week :)

These are delightful treasures all.
Aren't you the lucky duck to receive your Mother's typewriter, I'm sure it will be in safe hands and many lovely notes will be issued with it.

Oh, I DO love the hobnail glassware! And I also love the "Then and Now" photos in the previous post with your parents. Your mother is so reminiscent of Audrey Hepburn in her lovely hat... such a distinguished couple...then AND now!
