I sit here in my studio for about 12 hours a day. It will probably be more today because I woke up before 4:00 a.m. and just started working. This is what happens when you have two online shops that never ever close. As if my ever widening derriere isn't proof enough that I need to get myself out of this chair a little bit more, then let the chair speak for itself.
Here is the chair in my studio. It was an almost new chair when I put it in here in February.
Note that little ledge thing on the floor by my fancy $2 flip flops? That is there because my feet don't really touch the floor. I'm not very tall. I lean forward in my chair and rest my feet there. This is what the front of the nearly new chair looks like after 6 months of me working in it...
Kinda sad. I'm going to rummage around and see what scraps of fabric I have to stretch and staple over the top. Will keep you updated. For now I'm sitting on a dish towel to prevent further damage. I wish I were kidding but I'm so not.
PS - what I'd really like is for someone to come over, rummage through my fabrics, find the perfect one and recover it for me. Is that too much to wish for? Anyone interested?

Wow. I think we need to upgrade you to a real office chair or a yoga ball or something..
ooooo - I'm for the exercise ball - makes you sit up straight AND your feet will touch the floor - plus its good for the ole abs! Can't have one out here - becomes and instant jungle gym with the munchkins...but you....hmmmmmmm.
haha, your daughter's comment about the yoga ball is funny!
I'll rummage the next time I'm down! Not sure we'll get the seat recovered but at least we'll have the fabric ready! :) Get up out of that chair, take a break, stretch your legs, eat a bite of lunch!
I so understand !

I'll send you a piece of vintage French linen if you can use it; it will never wear out! Maybe you can put a stripe on it or color it or something....or just use it plain...?
I think I'd love to help you, but that would be difficult. Good luck - it is a cool enough chair on its own to have any fabric on it.
Thank you for the sneak peek into your creative space Busy Bee. I'm loving that it's swimming in natural light and that you have a little ledge to rest your tootsies on - my desk has one built in.
As for the chair, perhaps a cushion would be a good stop gap for the moment.

I like your kind of humor, Jeanette, making me laugh here. Your daughter's comment is fun too. You could always put that yoga ball under your feet ;)
Have a fun-filled Mid week, Jeanette xxxx
Your chair has taken a backseat to your wook. Think it needs a boost-er!

You have certainly been giving that chair (and keyboard, and mouse) a workout.
I think you are skimping on that 12hr a day estimate...
I think you need some down time!! xo
i found a bit of wear and tear on my work chair too the other day... you def need an task chair that keeps you going... ha!
wahahahahahahah
Your so funny, you should see my chair.... pillows !
cheers, parsnip
haha i often feel like that when i have diy projects. all these ideas and just no follow through ;)
Wow...I thought I got up early. My waking time has been 5am lately...my mind gets going that time and will not stop.
Wish I could help with the chair. xoxoxo
Yikes! I vote the yoga ball too - I am always curious to know what happens if you loose concentration? Do you just start rolling around the room? That could be fun!
chair looks great!

wow. can I relate with you on EVERY aspect!!! first, having the two shops and working 14 hours a day. but how do you continue the blog? i had to get up at 4:00 am this morning to get things done... I am so tired by 5:30 ..... AND your desk chair is just like mine! I purchased mine on-line, not covered. just a muslin. And it's been that way for 6 months now. except it's stained from my son eating chocolate there.
good to hear i'm not alone in any of this !! KC :)
ooh! i have a great fabric store by me that i would love to have a reason to go.
very cool chair.
