vintage finds wednesday...

We did it again.  I don't know exactly how it happened but we braved the crazy heat and went to the auction again last weekend.  I need to build up enough inventory to make it through the upcoming holiday season without having to go out and treasure hunt so off we went.  Totally worth it.  We carried (okay drove) home lots of looty, serious fruity tooty looty because not too many people showed up - that's how psycho hot it was.  Like it was still 103 degrees at 9:00 P.M. kind of heat.

I scored mountains of silver, most of which I will have to polish up before I put it in the shop - ugh.  This beautiful set was all jumbled up in a shoebox but I could tell there was a whole lotta chic underneath that shabby...

This one was already looking more chic than shabby by showing itself off in the original cutlery box.  What I loved most, (besides the fabulous service set itself) was the awesome pink lining in the box.  How cute is that (and how great are the deco pieces in front of it)?

Some more fun stuff I haven't started going through yet...

Don't want to overload you with the rest but do want to share what might be my favorite find from the weekend.  This is a miniature table.  It was a salesman sample table.  Salesman use to take them  (legs fold up) around to show and try and get stores to carry them in their shops.  I adore it.

I also adore my blog friends and want to thank you for both stopping by here and give a hug to those of you who shop with me in one of my shops.  That hug is coming in the form of a discount.  I am giving my blog readers a 10% discount now through December.  So if you see something you like, in either Maude and Lola or Everton Terrace, be sure to use the discount code BLOGREWARD10 at checkout and feel me hugging you, unless you have personal space issues then just consider it a friendly wave and smile.

Oh! that little table is wonderful.
The salesmen took those mini samples to the stores hoping for an order for the (real) full-sized ones. Great find.
You really got some super stuff! Reward for suffering through the heat!

Wow - all that silver, beautiful. The one in the original case reminds me of my grandmother's silver.
