We're back from our trip to Washington, D.C. It was great and I'm exhausted - as usual. We saw monuments and museums galore, visited Arlington and Mount Vernon. We rode bikes through the mall, got caught in the rain, ate good food and I finally met a fellow blogger! My husband, daughter and I met Reya for dinner and it was so fun - like being with an old friend. I met her with the anticipation of friendship and left her with the confirmation of it. Now I want to meet all of you!
It's always fun to visit our daughter in the various places she hangs her hat. The sublet she has been living in since May is, by far, the nicest building of the bunch.
Thought you might like a little tour around the lobby of the building we got to stay in, the place she has been calling home - though the building is technically called the "Wyoming".
Ridiculous right? No wonder she fell in love with that city, no wonder indeed.
Smiling - Home Sweet Home indeed! Beautiful photos! Glad you are back safely!
So glad that you had a wonderful time and that building is STUNNING. What a beauty. Have a great Thursday morning, my dear.
I am such a lucky girl! So sad to be leaving DC.
Fabulous building! Wonderful trip! Great shots!
Wowzers! She is living the life, I must say!
I think I'd want to stay too! Can you imagine my two in a place with THAT much echo potential - makes me laugh thinking about it!
How lucky you were to meet Reya! Now come and visit me in Germany! I once had a visitor from blogland (England, in this case), and right from the first moment it felt the same. An old friend! Funny, hey?
I was only once in Washington, 45 years ago, and all I remember was: How HOT can a place be!
Hi nice to meet you. Came through Monkey Grass Hill. Loved your comment with her today and the push and pull of making a passion into a business. I'm writing something about friends doing a jewellery biz and they say the same....
What a beautiful building. Lucky, Lucky Lucky Daughter.
We love us our marble monstrosities here in DC, eh? Your pictures are exquisite, Jeanette. Glad you're back in your beautiful desert. xx
you were only a half hour away from me!
Welcome back...lovely images!
Are you kidding me?
That is THE most glorious lobby I've ever seen....and you say your daughter was living there? Wowzers!
Glad to have you back and I can imagine you had a fabulous time with your darling girl.
Happiest of happy days!
ohmygosh! can i move in with her?
I thought that might be the famous Mayflower hotel at first glance. WOW, nice sublet!
Next time you're here I'd love to meet you and maybe go flea-marketing with you. Did you hit the Georgetown one on Sunday? LOTS of jewelry.
