andrew henry's world...

This is a glimpse into our past week as seen through the eyes of my husband, Andrew Henry.

Andrew Henry Says: I must admit that after 9 days of eating Chinese food for lunch and dinner, I was really glad to see this sign in Shanghai!

Jeanette Says: I don't like coffee but I understood.  We are home safe and sound.  I took last week to get my bearings and now I'm easing back into my life.  Will post photos of our travels all week!

It can be reassuring to see something familiar when all your senses are being assailed with the 'new and different'.

I've been thinking about you and wondering how the adventure is unfolding - can't wait to find out what you've been up to.

Happy day!

Welcome home Jeanette! I can't wait to see pictures of your great adventure. Was the Chinese food like American-Chinese food? Or a totally different experience?

Outstanding photo, the colors are fabulous.

I can understand Andrew Henry's feelings. When you travel to places that are so different in sound and sights even a Starbucks can look good.
But I must admit the best coffee I ever drink is in Japan and not at a Starbucks.
Just wish the signage was smaller or maybe just above the door ? I really dislike the intrusion of American symbols ever where.

When I travel in Japan, and you get out of the big cities, sometimes I am the only non-Asian person on the trains.

What strange weather you came home too, not at all our November weather.
Can't wait for the travel photos.

cheers, parsnip

The Chinese food was strictly "local fare". It' was an amazing experience but it's good to be home.

Wow can't wait to see the pics; I have been to HK and southern China but not to Shanghai, have always wanted to go!! It is funny that the food there is nothing like American Chinese food but surely you will show us all all that!! Welcome home~

Welcome home! xx

I can imagine it will take a little while to readjust to 'homelife' after your trip. Such a big culture difference!

Thank you for your sweet comment today. I am missing him so much this time.
I know time will fly and that it will be February before we know it, but feel I need a week or so to readjust to 'solo life' as opposed to 'family life'. Glad to have the kids by my side though..!

Big hugs from Sweden.

What a total joy to meet you a couple of weeks ago, Jeanette! You are pure delight!! I feel as though you were simply a friend waiting to be found! Thanks for taking time, just before you were leaving.

Hugs your way!
