andrew henry's world...

This is a glimpse into our past week as seen through the eyes of my husband, Andrew Henry.

Andrew Henry says:  This is a muffin Jeanette made me for breakfast last week.  I'd like to tell you this is one of those things that tastes so much better than it looks, but I'm afraid I can't.  The primary ingredient is oatmeal.  I don't like really like oatmeal but she's always trying to get me to eat it.

Jeanette says:  Ha ha ha, it's not pretty is it?  I saw a coffee mug muffin recipe on Pinterest - make one muffin at a time.  Sounded great, didn't taste (or look) so great.  To be fair, I tried to double the recipe, perhaps that was the problem.  We called it the bloody oatmeal morning muffin.  Who wouldn't want a mishaped greyish brown thing with red oozing out of it for breakfast????

Brave husband and so oblliging . What a good boy he is. Have you tried homemade granola? Lots of nuts.. We have it for dinner sometimes it's so good but then again we both love oatmeal.

I don't know... Bloody Oatmeal Muffin sound pretty funny way to start the day.
Have you tried the overnight, no cooking, add milk, cream or yogurt leave overnight in the frig add fruit nuts anything you want. Comes out like a cold pudding kind of interesting. I like it but I like oatmeal.

cheers, parsnip

It would go well with my morning juice which Captain V has dubbed 'Drac juice' - being made from a selection of fruits and vegetables one of which is beetroot, which gives it a lovely purple-red hue!

This reminded me that I forgot to tell you how much I enjoyed the jam from Tartine! Meghan said how much you liked it so I ordered the jam and toasty bread. Delicious!
