a new trend...

When I started my Everton Terrace Etsy shop, I sold vintage and handmade jewelry.  Mostly I made handstamped metal jewelry like this...

I also revamped some vintage pieces and made stuff like this...

Then, a year later, I opened my other Etsy shop and I stopped finding time to make jewelry.
Things change.
Ebbs and flows.
Well, things are changing again.
Have you seen this fabulousness popping up everywhere?
Authentic vintage rhinestone jewelry hand painted with bold colors.
Vintage mixed with modern - my favorite kind of style.

I was lucky enough to spend the weekend with my daughter last month and we got ourselves some fancy paintbrushes and got to work (all of the painted pieces you see on this post we did).

These gorgeous necklaces are next.  Can't decide if I should stay with the bold neon type colors above or try some soft pastels.  What do you think?

Will let you know when they are all finished and in my shop.
If you've got some vintage rhinestone jewelry you don't wear anymore, you might want to give it a try.
It's all the rage this spring and summer and if you've got a steady hand and good eyes, you can make some for yourself!

wow, you are so creative. I've never seen this done and it's fantastic. Might have to give it a try. I think the neon colors are perfect for this time of year.

I agree! Very happy! I like the brights a lot but I am curious to see how pastel looks too. :) So fun! I love how it makes the pieces into something entirely new.

Hi Jeanette,
Wow what a fun transformation!
You are so good at working with jewelry! I am always amazed at the constant stream of creativity out there. I think these beauties will not last long in your etsy shop my friend. I need to show my gypsy mom these. I might be getting her one for Mother's Day!!!
It's been great seeing you over at La Dolfina... I've missed you!!!
XO

Very cute.
What kind of paint do you use ? Do you bake it in the oven to set the colors so they don't scratch ?
Looks like good fun.

cheers, parsnip

The is the first that I've
seen of this kind of vintage
re-do.....So cool! I vote for
more of the brights, since
"pops" of color are THE thing
at the moment in fashion.....

Happy Tuesday!
