life in color...

Our eye color, smiles and bottled hair color are the same.  We use the same hand gestures when we talk, usually like the same art, literature and music.  We are both hyper punctual and enjoy the same foods.  Oh wait, no we don't.  She doesn't have much of a sweet tooth, mine is developed enough for both of us.  I'm a vegetarian while she loves a good burger.  Our politics lean away from each other.  I jump out of bed in the morning with a song on my lips, she...........not so much.  We are the same and yet delightfully different, my daughter and I.

One of these differences was very obvious to me last month when we met up in San Diego and went hunting for treasures to sell in my Etsy shops.  I tend to shy away from things with lots of color.  I don't know when I became a monochromatic girl but it happened nonetheless.  The daughter kept pointing to things exploding with color that I hadn't even noticed.  Seeing as citrus and brights are the thing this spring and summer, I followed her lead and snapped up a rainbow of jewelry for my shop.

Lots of mid-century beaded necklaces in fun colors...

and big flower brooches bursting with color...

I'm glad she pushed me into the rainbow.  Makes my shop more interesting and a bit more pleasing to the eye.  Some of these beauties are already in my shop for sale, some have sold and others are sitting here waiting for me to photograph them.  If something catches your eye, remember to use the code BLOGREWARD10 at checkout for 10% off your entire purchase!

Are you a color lover?

I love how you describe yourself and daughter!! I love turquoise and coral jewelry in the summer, especially with white. It just spells summer to me. xo

I happen to be a color lover. I've always been a little too matchy-matchy, but hopefully I'm learning how to mix colors better.

"The same bottled hair color". This made me laugh. My mother used to say that the only reason anyone ever thought we looked alike was because we both wore the same eyeliner. :) I love color but I don’t wear it. I have very blonde hair (that may or may not come from a bottle) and wear lots of black eyeliner. I feel too stand out-ish in much color. I like quiet clothes to counter the hair. If I do wear color, it’s either muted or it’s an accessory. I think any of these pieces would be perfect with an all black outfit. Great finds! Your daughter has an eye. I wonder where she got it. ;)

don’t wear bright colors...like muted greys, olives burgundies...bright not so much...see that jewelry...I’d walk right by it to...your daughter is helpful with her “young approach”...
