after the auction...

We haven't been to our (usually) regular auction since January.  The auction looked quite promising this weekend so we spent a long 5 hours there on Sunday (I wore the wrong shoes and my back is killing me from standing the whole time).  This is the bulk of what we brought home.

I bought several flats of jewelry to sell in my Everton Terrace shop (I was outbid on more than I brought home this time).  The pieces go from display trays to baggies before we leave the auction house.  I get home and separate the trash from the treasures...

I'm always drawn to the silver serviceware.  I think it mixes well with any type of decor and can be used for so many different things.  I like to keep the little bud vases and smaller containers to use for flowers or hostess gifts.  Probably all of this lot is headed for sale in my Maude & Lola shop...

Okay, I might have to keep these two because they are glorious and regal looking...

Not sure what this is.  I'm thinking maybe vintage knife rest.  I've just never seen one with multiple slots like this, it was made in Italy - will investigate...(anyone know?)

Confession.
I'm also thinking about keeping this adorable little pressed glass cheese dish...

I mean how cute is that?

That's what our place is like after the auction.  Much to research, sort, clean, photograph and list but that's my job and I enjoy it so.  We did have what might be an auction first for us - Andrew Henry bid on and bought himself TWO things.  I'll share those tomorrow.  Can you guess???

Fun beach colors nail polish giveaway still time to enter right here!

what fun! I would love to go to an auction.

I always love dumping out all my stones and just looking and thinking about what I'll do when I get back from the Gem and Jewelry shows.

Julie, I went to the Tucson Gem/Jewelry show one year and found it so overwhelming. I'd love to go with you as a tour guide :)

And while I LOVE all of the things you bought - I am truly intrigued by what it could have possibly been that caught AH's eye to the point of not only bidding - but winning! Can't wait to see - some lovely antique tool or something???

I can't wait to hear what AH bought. The auction is always entertaining, at the very least.

I too would love to tag along with you when you go to an auction. I haven't been to one since I first started working. I have such wonderful memories of that afternoon. It was held outside in the fall.
But I would not be able to stand for 5 hours !
I love the Gem show but after you have been going for several years you end up picking the shows that are the ones you need to see. It is the greatest show ever but can be overwhelming. But so much fun !

It looks like you made some great purchases.
Keep the little cheese dish and put a plant or some keepsake in it to display. Perfect.
I can't wait to see what Andrew Henry bid on. I think I might know.

cheer, parsnip

The family that runs this auction should be on a TV show. A bunch of characters indeed.
