A few years ago, a friend said something to me and I have never forgotten it (surprising for me I know). It might seem odd to you now, but I knew what she meant. Since then, I have reminded myself of this logic from time to time.
"Some people are Tiggers and some people are Eeyores and you're a Tigger. Eeyores will always gravitate towards Tiggers and it can eventually wear even a Tigger down."
Those are the words of wisdom I got from my friend Dee. Dee is fun and energetic - a Tigger if you ever saw one. She has travelled the world and been on amazing adventures most of us only dream about. She grew up in Louisiana, went to college in Hawaii, moved to Phoenix and started with nothing. She worked hard and became wildly successful. Dee throws great parties and I've never heard a negative word said about her. Most impressive, she raised a lovely daughter all by herself. Good energy this girl.
This morning, my friend Dee is coming over for breakfast. I haven't seen her in a while and we're just going to catch up. A much needed break for me, but probably just a quick pit stop in-between trips for Dee. As of now, we'll be having a frittata with artichoke and fig dressing, some potato of a sort (to be determined) and perhaps fruit. I might even clean some little square of my house so we can sit and put our glasses down.
I'll let you know how it works out and pass on any pearls of wisdom she might share with me today.

I am definitely a Tigger, but you're right. It can be exhausting. I hope breakfast is fun and I am sure it will be delicious!
I love your photos. Looking forward to hearing about your visit with 'Tigger'. Your breakfast description has made me hungry....must go and find a snack!
I have in the past, on the odd, rare, occasion, been an Eeyore! I am a Tigger!
But us Tiggers have to be there for our Eeyores. What would they do without our "tiggerly" ways.
Girl! From one Tigger to another, I hear you. My husband, I often call him Joe, and that is not his name either, told me a loooong time ago that those that have attract those that have not - meaning a positive attitude, joy, creativity and energy. He told me this in response to questions I had about friendships and relationships I had that left me feeling exhausted and drained. He, however, did not use such lovely names to describe these "others" he simply referred to them as energy suckers. His theory is that they are too entrenched in themselves and their own problems, and are too busy focusing on all of the negatives to realize that it is simply a matter of where you use your energy. Rather than re-channel theirs, they want to steal yours, or at least be fueled by it. And then, sometimes when these energy suckers feel you have nothing left to give (b/c they "worn you down), they disappear, in search of the next Tigger to prey upon. I now try to limit my exposure to such people. It took too much effort for my husband to try to put me back together after one of them was finished with me - and I seemed to attract them like flies! And I'm not talking about people going through a rough patch - I mean those that make it a lifestyle. I'd rather stay in Tiggerville!
I am usually easy going in social situations, etc. However, I am a worrier. When the worrier is gone I slide to the Tigger side. When the worrier is back, Eeyore it is. :-)
P.S. Love the photo you chose for your post about breakfast with your friend!!
I'm the one that is not in the picture. Why do you think the girls have their hats down protecting their faces. Because, behind the fencepost stands another little girl with her BB gun and, in her sights is the flower vase she is so stealthy trying to take out. Yep, that's me. Do'nt worry, I missed (bad eyes-had a patch over one of them).
Til next time Jeanine
