palo verde...

Oh my beautiful Palo Verde tree.  How I love thee.

Under the harshest of conditions, you announce spring with prolific golden splendor....

Your guard your tender fortune with keen daggers...

Alas, time is a pirate - plundering your treasure and scattering it to the winds...

AND INTO MY ALLERGY SUFFERING BODY!  I do love them - we put 5, yes, count them, FIVE between the front and back yards.  Ugh, this time of year is a killer on my sinuses.  I'm glad I'm on vacation right now.  I took these right before I left.  There is one thing though, at least they match my new little table and chairs on the front porch...

Just gorgeous! And the verse you composed to go along with it - just splendid! We have a tree here that does something very similar in the spring, the flowering cherry! I feel the same way about them. We had a HUGE one in our front yard - how I miss it. I have been fortunate enough, however, to go to DC for the cherry blossom festival. Oh the splendor of that display with so many, many cherry blossom trees!

J-that table and chairs is just too sweet!

Very nice Jeanette,
The combination of prose and imagery, with the dab of humor at the end is quite pleasing. I liked it very much.

I thought I would escape allergies up here in the grey northwest, but alas, things bloom here too!

I am in love with your table and chairs - they have such personality! And aren't allergies terrible this year? For some reason it seems like everyone I know is suffering far more than usual.

The matching is key! They are still blooming nicely, by the way.
