vintage finds wednesday...

I'm sharing my two newest vintage finds today.

The first one is, of course, another purse.  I swear I just can't help myself.  They seem to always have the purses by the jewelry at estate sales and I MUST look at the jewelry for my shop so it is impossible for me not to see the purses.  You see the conundrum don't you?

The second is a little oil painting recently gifted to me by my mother.  I think she picked it up at a thrift shop.  It's small and sweet and of the Arc de Triomphe, which we climbed to the top of two summers ago during our trip to Paris.

Adorable beaded clutch in just the palest shade of pink...

near mint condition and handmade in Belgium for only $5...

and the painting which was I believe, was under $20...

I don't know where it's going yet.  I'm doing a little re-organizing in Pagoda.  I think I might need your help with some of it - perhaps next week.

Have you been to Paris?  Did you climb to the top of the Arc?  I thought it was kind of a brutal climb but my mom did it and she's in her 60's so who am I to complain?!

Nope, never been to Paris - would love to go. Beautiful painting. I'm guessing when the climb was done it was actually quite exhilarating - good on you both! Loving the little pink clutch - how very perfectly feminine!

great finds, jeanette, and I have never been to paris. (your mom sounds like mine - she is in her early 70's and walks and gardens every day - and she looks amazing!

I've been to Paris but we didn't climb the Arc. I would love to go back. And that purse might go missing sometime... Just saying...

HOW do you find all these amazing vintage purses? You should have another shop for them, or do you already?

Sometimes I forget how much I envy/hate-you-for your amazing style and fashion sense.

Then posts like this remind me.

Why, why are you so awesome?

It's really not fair to the rest of us.

Those stairs to the top will get your heart pumping, that is for sure. Compound that with all of the walking you do around the city and it adds up.

Great photos of the purse! Really!

Lovely finds--that purse is so sweet. I've been to Paris twice; once on a family trip, and once to study for a summer. I don't think we climbed to the top of the Arc, though. The summer I was studying there (2002, I think), I started dating a painter who lived in Modigliani's old apartment--isn't that amazing (and so cliche, ha!)?? There was a plaque outside the door that said "former residence of the artist Modigliani" or something like that. Oh this is making me so nostalgic!!!

I love your style :) and especially that painting, so neat!

I have been to Paris. For my birthday, the year my father died. I went with an old friend. It was a wonderful experience, very healing and full of good memories.

Thank you for reminding me today :)

Hugs!
