This is a glimpse into our past week as seen through the eyes of my husband, Andrew Henry.
A giant sandstorm, or Haboob, rolled through our neighborhood this weekend.
I took this photo from our roof. This is the enormous wall of dust as we looked to the southeast...
A few minutes later and it was almost upon us (by this time I was in the living room taking photos)...
Here is the view looking northeast as it blows in...
Within minutes, the mountain is covered in dust...
It was fun to watch!

Since I've lived in the southeast most of my life, I've never seen anything like this. Looks cool but a little scary, too!

It's a crazy thing to watch. And even cooler since it only happens a few places in the world!
First one I've experienced, yes dramatic! Nice shots AH.
Very dramatic.
We had rolling clouds appearing in the sky just like in the movie Independence Day.
I think I will take rain over the dust. Didn't you have one come through your neighborhood last year ?
Good Luck with the dusting !
cheers, parsnip
WOW..how incredible and a bit scary. Such a great photos, my dear. Happy Monday.
Wo! I would have been scared - looks like a hurricane!
that is crazy and pretty neat to see! i've never been in something like that..
It was really cool in person because you can actually see it moving in; ever so slowly until it is on you.
whoa! A side of Mother Nature I hope not to meet! Great shots!

That's incredible! Weren't you scared?
Scary, beautiful,

Wow! I missed this! We left on Friday afternoon...was it at all nerve wracking?
No not at all. We've had them before. This one was actually kind of mild, sometimes the sand comes through the cracks and vents and is all over the house.
Wow...that is amazing...love your images.
Wow! Cool to see, but wouldn't want to be outside in that!
These are so crazy. My cousin has a home in Arizona and she took a picture of her and her husband outrunning one in a car
