giving back...

I have mentioned what a lucky person I am. I've been winning things my whole life. Those closest to me will attest to the unending list of items, drawings, contests etc., that have announced my name as "THE WINNER".  It's always a delight, but truth be told, not so surprising anymore. It might genetic. My father wins even more often than I.

On our trip to Wisconsin a few weeks ago, we stopped at a roadside market in a tiny town for a bottle of water.  I asked Andrew Henry to get me a lottery ticket while he was inside. Thank you Wisconsin lottery for the $34 I won on your scratcher ticket!  Now I'm giving back to you - not the $34, you have to know that was gone before I came home.  At least $7 of it went towards that great panini maker.  I'm giving back with jewelry - either for yourself or to give as a gift.

I opened my Etsy shop in February, around the same time I started this blog. I've been delighted with how well it's going and I want to share my good fortune with ya'll. This necklace has been my best seller so I thought it would be the best thing to give away this month. It's the usual blog giveaway...
  • Sign up to follow this blog by clicking the "follow" button over there on the left and leave me a comment letting me know you have.
  • Blog about the giveaway and you get another entry (send me the link and I'll put your name in again).
That's it folks. There will be 3 winners - each one will receive a necklace. The giveaway will run all week and I'll announce the winners with a big parade (or a blog post) on Friday.

Side note:  You always wonder about the people who buy your jewelry.  Is it a gift?  Is it for something special.  Will they like it?  This is a note I received from a lovely woman who recently ordered one of these necklaces.   This is the kind of thing that warms my heart and makes me feel good about the world...

"I am so excited about this necklace. It is for my little sister who I (sic) graduating high school. She has special needs and has lately talked about wanting to change the world. This necklace couldn't be more perfect for her! It will mean so much to my mother as well who wants the world for my sister, as do I. We believe she will make a huge impact on the people she meets. Thanks for making the most perfect necklace for my amazing little sister. "

GOOD LUCK EVERYBODY!

I purchased that necklace for a teacher that in total, my boys had for 4 years. She is an amazing woman who is changing the world by teaching middle school students to love all styles of music. She loved the necklace!

I love your blog Jeanette & am going to make sure all my friends know to check out your work.

ps - I get a TON of complements on the earrings with the boys initials/birth dates!
