There was no chill, I wore no sweater, the leaves were still on the trees and a bargain in New York is not quite the same as a bargain everywhere else.
There were some interesting animals...
Funny Farm anyone? I loved that movie...
this owl was $275 - seriously????
A piece I would have liked to stuff in my suitcase because I do love me some drawers...
They did have probably the best food stalls I've ever seen at any flea market...
I only bought a couple bits and bobs to make a few pieces of jewelry with...
and one vintage necklace that was too fantastic to pass up (it's already in my shop)...
Sorry I didn't take more photos. I was hot. Did I mention the heat?

How fun does that look!? What a vast array of stuff to look at! You could really get lost there - I mean, if you weren't dying of heat stroke, of course!
Going to check out your new necklace "find"!
Too bad it wasn't one short week later - you could have had that chilly sweater-clad stroll!
We are 60 degrees here in sunny FL - so I can't imagine how lovely and chilly it is up there in NY!!!
Welcome home happy wanderer!
I would have loved to have been there! Great pics and i'm loving that owl:-). XX
That looks like something I would totally enjoy! Thanks for taking me there!
Heat makes me unhappy, too. My daughter lives in Manhattan and loves to come home to the Midwest to shop for flea bargains!
Looking forward to seeing what wonderful pieces emerge from your 'finds'. That is a fabulous necklace!
Just wrote the cutest comment, but blogger ate it. Dang, man.
I could use some heat up here in Seattle!
sorry about the lack of sweater and fall leaves. great items though!!
IT'S ALWAYS FUN TO BE IN THE MIST OF EXCITEMENT.
That surprises me that it wasn't cooler. Everywhere around the country is talking about how cool it has gotten! It's even in the 70's here in MO :) I love NYC
Oh no Nicole, it is cool and like I said, the food was great, just not crazy bargains which I was hoping for. I found more at the Saint Charles market in Illinois and the Rose Bowl market in CA. Depends on what you're looking for. I'm always hunting for vintage jewelry and just found Brooklyn's prices to be what I sell pieces for in my shop. DO go if you have the chance.
Although those prices sound oh-so-NY, sadly, the gajillion drawers and those vintage jewelry pieces have me swooning (the heat wouldn't have helped, I'm sure!) I've lost my jewelry-making mojo and would love to see what you do with these pieces (I'm sure it would be totally inspiring :)).
love the brooklyn flea. sad i missed it!
Could you waft a bit of that heat over here to UK please, we are already feeling autumn's chill.
yeah i lived in ny for a years and it wasn't my favorite place in the universe either! but did find some cool stuff! i love those keys! and that gold treasure! looks like a compact? very fun! blessings...s...
Jeanette isn't exaggerating. When we met up at the end of the day, she had a sun burn! It wasn't very fall-like that day. But hey, it was an adventure!
The heat is killing me too. Although, I guess I can't complain since I do to choose to live in Tampa. HA!
Oh I dream of going to a NY flea market! So many treasures!
Great post doll!
Luvs!
Oh my friend...really I am not a heat person either..I would rather be shopping with an umbrella!
Looks like you got some great treasures! Thank you for sharing your time...makes me want to find a market this weekend. xoxoxo
I like the library index card holder thing- And a 275 dollar owl- sheesh.
very cool necklace, is that mexican?
wish i could have shopped ther with you gals. minus the heat. enjoying this crazy weather so i can actually wear a sweater!
I hate it when the prices are ridiculously high such as that owl!?
At our market, most prices are high but you can find some reasonable prices too. There's nothing like a great estate sale though to get you back in the groove :)
Thanks for sharing you photos.
And I agree, one of the best things about a flea market is the food and people watching :)
