vintage finds wednesday...

My latest vintage finds. A trip to one of my favorite thrifts this weekend brought two gems.

Classic vintage leather Samsonite briefcase in pristine condition.  The inside has a plastic divider that looks brand new...

and this awesome mid-century looking pot.  It's nice and heavy and was a whopping $7.  Trying it out by the front door right now but it might find its way into the house.  Don't know what kind of plant will make a home in there yet (I'm usually just trying for one I can't kill, I'm an excellent plant murderer)...

Picked this up while the daughter was home over Christmas break.  Adorable vintage tunic for like $5.  I wore it yesterday while getting my new crown (for my tooth, not my head) LOVE IT...

and this sweet necklace I purchased at an auction.  It's for my shop but I kind of want to keep it (this happens all the time)...

Doesn't that girl have a beautiful neck?  Seriously, unretouched photo.  I'm doing some custom jewelry for her and when she came by to go over things I asked her to pose for a snap of the necklace

Do you ever wear vintage?

J - my dad had a briefcase EXACTLY like that! Brought back memories - love it - will have to inquire as to its whereabouts.
Can't wait to see what comes to live in the planter - it would look great in the living room - and there is PLENTY of light in there, no?
Awesome tunic! Bray loves it - its blue, so of course he does!
Yes - beautiful neck - but lovely necklace too

The briefcase is amazing! The tunic too! I used to wear a lot of vintage in my 20's but it was scruffy vintage, not glamourous vintage. ;) It's more difficult to shop for vintage with a little one so now I tend to frequent a few stores (non vintage) that are close to work where I know what my size is and I can shop on my lunch hour. Now our house - that's a different story. Mostly vintage with some Ikea thrown in for good measure.

My sister is the one who scores the great finds and clearly you as well. Love the tunic - and can relate - just finished my root canal - crown will be next step!!

Don't worry, I don't have a green thumb either. :( I wish I did... my grandma could take plants from the dead and revive them.

Great finds all! The pot is awesome! I think I have the med. size suitcase to match that briefcase.
To answer the question...
Yes, I wear vintage, mostly jewelry and purses. At the momnet the only vintage clothing item I have is a pair of 1930's silk lounging PJ's.

Love that briefcase. Still have a suitcase that my parents brought on their honeymoon back in the late 50's. Same design and hardware as this case. Love it.

wow great finds! that briefcase looks new! Loving the tunic - I never really do well finding good vintage clothing, usually just household stuff. But then again, I don't always take the time to really look :)

Love it all, but especially that tunic! I can see you dressed in the tunic, lounging by the new pot with a large fern in it, and a glass of something cold in hand!
